Horoscope: Jan 22 – 28, 2018

Jan 22 – 28th

Authoritative Words

What to expect: Mental Depth
What to watch out for: Manipulations
What will it affect? Thoughts, Learning, Communication, Authority, Shared resources

Between Jan 24th and 25th Mercury will conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. When Mercury and Pluto come together, thoughts get deep, investigative and persistent. Pluto and Mercury together can be deeply manipulative. The good news is that Capricorn demands that words are spoken with depth, authority, and integrity. There’s not much that can get past us when these two come together. The fact that they are both in Capricorn will make us cautious, careful and responsible. We’ll choose our words and be careful about their delivery. If you have an authoritative message to deliver, these are the days to do it.

Pluto can also make us a little obsessive about our thoughts, pushing us to get to the bottom of things. We’ll feel a need to unravel all the component parts and to really understand. I had a brother who liked to pull things apart to see what was inside. He once broke open a very expensive wrist watch, pulling out all of the bits to see how they worked. The problem came when putting trying to put the timepiece back together! If something doesn’t fit or makes sense at this time, we will find ourselves obsessed as we try to piece it together. We know there is a way to solve it and we’ll keep going until we find it.

The fact that these two are making a sextile to Jupiter provides us with an opportunity to learn from one another and will help to bring diverse groups together. This is good news because we can direct our obsessive need to understand and solve problems towards social issues and/or social justice. Jupiter in Scorpio will direct our attention to issues related to sexuality, #metoo, and #timesup movements. We may also be focused on money, shared resources, investments, and crypto-currencies.

The Developing Story…

What to expect: Information about eclipse
What to watch out for: Lot’s of ideas.
What will it affect? Eclipses, ideas, leadership

Mars will move into Sagittarius on Jan 26th, but before it does, it will square the 2017 August eclipse point and the upcoming solar eclipse in Feb 2018. Mars is a major trigger for eclipses and so it’s a good idea to pay attention to what comes up right now as it triggers and helps to builds on the story of the past and begin to build the story of the future. The solar eclipse in February is in Aquarius and will spark plenty of ideas… Don’t dismiss your inventions! Keep a notebook by your side from now until then and capture all the comes up.

Mars will then enter Sagittarius and for the next little while, we will be motivated by philosophies, exploration, and adventure.

Why? Mars Entering Sagittarius

Get it on Paper

What to expect: Racing Thoughts
What to watch out for: Burnout
What will it affect? Thoughts, communication, healing

Towards the end of the week on Jan 27 – 28th Mercury will square Uranus. Our minds will be busy and preoccupied. There is a strong chance of burnout. Partially because our minds will have been on full throttle all week. This transit will just add to our already racing minds. The problem is that Mercury will want to take its time, be careful, thorough and meticulous. Our minds will be saying “don’t rush me; I have to think about this”. But Uranus in Aries is impatient and will push to get on with the show.

Mercury will also will also sextile Chiron and Chiron is suggesting that we take the time to talk it out, journal or use some other form of communication to get things out of our heads. This process can not only be healing in terms of what we write but also healing in the sense of getting it out into the universe and out of our heads.

Exercising Power

What to expect: Willpower
What to watch out for: Being uncompromising
What will it affect? Beliefs, standards, power

On Monday, January 15th, Jupiter will sextile Pluto. We feel powerful and unstoppable. If you have a lot to do, this is the day to get it done. Willpower and perseverance is in ample supply. This is also a great day for delegating and managing.

Jupiter is in Scorpio diving into the depths of the mystical, occult or hidden knowledge. It is taking on exploration of our boundaries, our finances, shared resources, and our indebtedness. As it makes this connection to Pluto, we have a chance to transform the structures and standard around these areas.

Also, if you need to deliver a message it will be powerful and even inspiration!

New Moon in Capricorn

What to expect: A pilgrimage
What to watch out for: Getting lost
What will it affect? Ambitions, connection to a greater purpose

At the New Moon on January 16th, we go on a journey of spiritual or moral importance – A pilgrimage or heroine’s journey. This can be an actual journey or one you take with a coach or guru. The New Moon is in Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign associated with ambition, so now is a good time to consider and set intentions around our ambitions. Be aware, Capricorn is associated with Saturn who will make you work for it. So be prepared to put in the work. First on the agenda is checking in with the sources of those ambitions. And this is where the pilgrimage comes in.

Years ago I went on a heroine’s journey in Nepal. The guide burned some sage, used it to clear our energy and said: “let the adversity begin”. I laughed. It was the last time I will ever laugh in the face of adversity. What followed was ten harrowing days of climbing mountains. There was an easier way, but Mother Nature decided to teach us, and the only way she could do that was to throw adversity in our path. At one point when I felt I could no longer go on, I stopped to rest, looked down and at my feet was a feather; a sign for many that spirit is around. I personally took it as a sign and said a prayer “this is beyond me, I’m gonna need you to help me up the mountain”. Though my limit was reached, I was able with the help of something beyond myself, to push past my limits and make it up the mountain. When I finished the trek, I declared it the best experience of my entire life! This New Moon presents an opportunity for such an experience. The New Moon is conjunct Venus bringing in the gracious wise mother earth energy. She will be there to teach you along the path. The New Moon is also connected to Chiron in Pisces  providing us with that feather and the energy to go down the path supported by something greater than us. It’s also connected to Mars giving us confidence and energy to go forward. To use its energy, imagine that you have returned from your journey and you are sharing your memories. As you do, feel yourself physically and emotionally at the summit of your journey. This is the kind of exercise that will help you to achieve your goal.

The New Moon is also making a square to Uranus and Pallas. We can expect some unexpected twist and turns along our path. We may even get lost. The Capricorn energy values stability and convention will square the Aries energy which wants to push forward with change. Tap into the energy of Mother earth to help you move forward and keep you grounded at the same time.

Mini Pilgrimage

What to expect: Spiritual growth
What to watch out for: Tantrums
What will it affect? Work, self expression, needs, inner growth

On January 19th Mercury will sextile Neptune; a great time for writing or other artistic expressions. We can also use this energy to take a local pilgrimage. For this one you don’t need to go far. Venus is now in Aquarius where she values freedom and change. She is making a sextile to Vesta the asteroid associated with work. Vesta is now in Sagittarius and in connection with Venus is telling us we can increase our work output through a road trip or a quest for knowledge via the open road.

On the same day, Juno the marriage asteroid is opposite Ceres. There is tension around how we tend to our inner child and our spirit. Ceres is feeling unloved and may throw a tantrum to get some attention. We need fun, play and attention right now and we may expect someone else to meet that need. The path through this conflict is to grow ourselves up and learn to meet our own needs. This ultimately helps us to approach our relationships as equals.

Horoscope: Jan 8 – 14, 2018

Jan 8 – 14th

Potent Energy

What to expect: Opportunity
What to watch out for: Wasting it
What will it affect? Money, investments, projects, leadership

The Sun and Venus come into a conjunction on Jan 8th. This amazing energy for financial activities and we may do well with investments. It’s in the ambitious sign of Capricorn bringing in grounded respectable energy. These two are also within one degree of Pluto, which draws in a transformative energy.

The three in conjunction also make a sextile to Jupiter and Mars. This is powerhouse energy, to say the least. Nice because it will hold us captivated for a couple of days. This is Kombucha mixed with vitamin b, coconut water, beet, berries, and wheatgrass, shaken with red bull and boosted with ginseng. The energy is potent. The energetic connection holds space for confidence and optimism and for learning something new. It also lends itself to the energy of transformational leadership. |We can project a magnetic influential approach that draws people to act from their own volition towards anything and anywhere we are directing. It’s also great for healthy competition. I say that because, with Pluto there, it’s important that leadership actions are done with the proper use of power and come from a place of the good of all.

I’ve always said that entrepreneurship is the best self-help course you could ever take. That’s because it will test your grit. This is a time we can push stronger, longer, harder. We can start projects putting things out into the world or do deep inner work… the kind that makes a lasting impact on our outer world.

This energy is really unlike anything we will experience for quite a while. In fact, these two days are a couple of the handful of days I mention as magical stellar days in the Free Introductory Business Timing Calendar. Make sure to take advantage of it in your own power centered way. And if you want to know when the next magical opportunity will be, download the calendar!

Careful Critical Thinking

What to expect: Focus on detail
What to watch out for: Pessimism
What will it affect? Contracts, details, structures

On January 10th mercury enters Capricorn and within two days will conjunct Saturn. Our thinking and communication become planned, careful and authoritative. We can be slightly structured, skeptical and will need more convincing. It’s a good time to check facts and figures, contracts or even the structure of things. We are able to see mistakes and look at things with a critical mind. This sounds a lot like mercury retrograde, but now is actually a good time to write important documentation, sign contracts or to take other important actions.

Partnership Tests

What to expect: Relationship curve balls
What to watch out for: Inflexibility
What will it affect? Relationships, partnerships, money, healing

On between January 13th and 14th Venus and the Sun comes into a square with Uranus. Relationships and finances may become unpredictable. Venus will not enjoy this ride as she is in Capricorn, the sign that enjoys committed enduring relationships. The Sun in Capricorn will be pushed to cautiously break free… But Uranus will make sure that the break free energy cannot be avoided. Venus and the Sun will also make a sextile to Chiron bringing an opportunity for healing. It’s a good time to work with a coach or do some other form of inner work. Don’t hesitate to bring your partner. Where does this need for freedom come from? Uranus wants us to pay attention to what needs to be changed and is targeting the supposed tried and true. Not to worry, Chiron in Pisces will help us to transcend old structures and to heal.
