December Astrology 2015

IMG_0988First Week

Need for Nurturing

What to expect: Nurturing conversations.

What to watch out for: Holding on to past grievances.

What will it affect? Our conversations and old wounds.

On December 1st, we are feeling the need to nurture. We have the opportunity to work it out through conversation. Conversations at this time will open up a wound, but a wound that needs to be opened and healed. We have the opportunity to see things in a new way, to incorporate unique perspectives, and to change our thoughts. It’s a good time to practice forgiveness exercises and to pay attention to what unconscious material comes up for us in our dreams. It will point to areas we need to address to move forwards.

Why? Sun sextile Ceres, Mercury trine Uranus, and Mercury square Chiron.

Balancing our Relationships

What to expect: Going deeper in our relationships.

What to watch out for: Insecurity that can throw us off.

What will it affect? Relationships.

By the 3rd, energy allows us to connect with the values from our intimate/business relationships. True partnership requires balancing the needs of both parties. What is fair, loving, and balanced? At this level, we often put in place contracts to ensure that everyone is on the same page. Once this is achieved, we feel satisfied and safe to move into deeper realms of intimacy and partnership. This is no easy matter; it requires trust. Venus goes into Scorpio the next day and this new level becomes the focus throughout to the end of the month. It might start out rocky. We may have a passionate need to express our independence when we realize that we really do need to share. Conversations can reflect overconfidence in our viewpoints. It’s a good time to explore shared values to ensure that they really are shared. You’ll be tempted to be suspicious and there may be moments of intensity.

Why? Venus conjunction Juno, Vesta entering Aries, Mercury square Jupiter, and Venus entering Scorpio.

Competition vs Healthy Ego

What to expect: Competitiveness.

What to watch out for: Attempts for unfair advantage.

What will it affect? World events and our egos.

On Dec 6th, the energy moves into a competitive nature. Healthy competition is something for which we should always strive. Healthy competition involves playing fair, having integrity, working hard, being a humble winner, and knowing how to lose gracefully if we lose. This ability gets seriously challenged on the 6th. We may see the claws come out in both our personal lives and on the world stage. Stay positive. This moment represents the last of the energy that has been playing out over the last couple of years. If we have been standing in integrity, we’ve seen lots of bullies in our lives and in the world stage topple, and we can expect to see more power hanger-ons go down at this time.

Why: Sun sextile Mars and Mars square Pluto.

Changing our Mind?

What to expect: An opportunity to change your mind.

What to watch out for: Being too fixed.

What will it affect? Our purpose.

Dec 7/8th – Do you allow yourself to change your mind? Sometimes we can get fixed on a certain path. We continue down that path because it was what we decided. We don’t want to look flaky, uncommitted, or like we easily “flip-flop.” But to continue down an unproductive path, even though you said you would, may not serve you well. We’ll have an opportunity to examine our plans and the path we have been following, then make changes or leave the path all together. Don’t be afraid to change your mind if it’s really not working. The energy exists for us to be honest with ourselves, to have breakthroughs, and to make changes more readily.

Why? Mercury square transiting North Node and Sun trine transiting Uranus.

New Directions

What to expect: Discomfort.

What to watch out for: Abandoning things because of discomfort.

What will it affect? Relationships, new plans, and directions.

As we move in a new direction, the past might come up to remind us of something. It may be the something that caused us to go in the other direction before – maybe to avoid feeling pain. Remember, even success can be scary and have uncomfortable feelings attached to it. We can have constructive and practical conversations now, especially within our partnerships. This energy will stay with us for the next three weeks while Mercury is in Capricorn. If you need to strategize around something that you want to achieve, now is a good time. Get out the flip chart paper and sticky notes, then map it all out.

Why? Sun square transiting Chiron, Mercury sextile transiting Juno, and Mercury entering Capricorn.

Fight for Fairness

What to expect: Wanting something to be fair.

What to watch out for: Going about it in the wrong way.

What will it affect? Our passions and our need for change.

Expect some intense energy on Dec 10th. We’ll want something to be fair on that day, passions will run high, and the need to take action to get what’s ours may take over. Words said will be fighting words, so for this reason it’s important to take a breath or two before we say anything. It may also be something we see on the world stage. Our collective thoughts and our collective actions will have global impact, so it’s important to keep them in the highest order. Ask yourself in the moment “what would the Dali Llama do?” Stay away from revenge or the need to power play.

Why? Mercury square transiting Vesta and Mars opposition transiting Uranus.

New Moon – December 11th

What to expect: Idealism.

What to watch out for: Not taking advantage of the energy.

What will it affect? Ideas, idealism, and visions.

The New Moon on Dec 11th is in Sagittarius. With this New Moon, we can create intentions for the next month to six months around our philosophies and higher ideals. The New Moon will be triggering all of that stuff that came up in the last couple of months – the stuff we’ve been feeling and challenged to heal. We can now direct any healing that has occurred into new projects, actions, and intentions. We have a great deal of energy around directing our energies toward whatever comes up at this time. Added to that is the ability to dive into the depths of things in order to see more detail than we usually have access to. This change enables us to combine our idealism with a deep dive into what is needed to get what we desire off the ground. Venus’s sextile to Neptune will also give us the ability to envision in dreamy and powerful textures, representing the piece de resistance in making this an eventual reality.

Why? Event: New Moon at 19°Sg02′ , Venus trine transiting Neptune, and Pluto conjunction transiting Pallas.

20139949_sThird Week

Watch out for Excess

What to expect: Strong opinions.

What to watch out for: Taking on other’s energy.

What will it affect? Opinions, beliefs, and boundaries.

On Dec 13/14th,we may be easily led to excess. It is the holiday season and normally I would be warning you about eating or drinking excessively, but this time the excess are around our opinions. With the Sun still in Sagittarius, they may come out without censor. The thing is, you may be intuitively tapping into other’s insecurities at this time, especially if you are a sensitive person picking up on other people’s energies. Your words may be just something that you are reflecting back to them. But that person may be a boss or another authority person in your life, so you will want to take the time to be aware of where you start and others leave off. Of course, mind altering substances will enhance this. Keep your wits about you!

Why? Sun square transiting Jupiter and Mercury sextile transiting Neptune.

Neediness

What to expect: Neediness.

What to watch out for: Weak boundaries.

What will it affect? Relationships, money, and children.

Dec 17th is a day when you will notice just about everyone is a little needy. Energy may be running high, the level of stress increased, and erratic thinking or behaviour may dominate the day. Someone may try to use their wiles to sweet talk you into what they want or just as easily express a little jealousy in order to get their way. The need is strong to have an acute awareness of boundaries and a healthy sense of self-esteem. Allow others to experience whatever they are experiencing without feeling the need to make it any different.

Why? Venus square transiting Ceres, Venus sextile transiting Pluto, and Uranus square transiting Pallas.

Clearing Patterns

What to expect: Opportunities for healing.

What to watch out for: Complaining.

What will it affect? Old wounds and our direction in life.

On Dec 18th, we have another opportunity to see into the patterns that have been following us from the past. We can form new habits and let go of unhealthy, unconscious material at this time. The way is presented again for us to form new beliefs or to refine old ones. Our examinations can also point to the poison that will heal – much like homoeopathic remedies, we realize that a little poison can often serve as the antidote. Remember this if you see an old pattern pop up and sting you yet again. It’s what we do with those experiences. Do we complain “not again” or do we see them an opportunities to change the story?

Why? Sun square transiting North Node and Chiron sextile transiting Pallas.

Strategies and Plans

What to expect: A good time for planning.

What to watch out for: A little backlash.

What will it affect? Ideas, strategies, and directions.

Dec 19/20th allows us to do some deep work on our strategy and plans. We may have started this process at the beginning of December, getting out our sticky notes and flip chart paper, but now we have the added energy of the planets to advocate for our plans and get others on board. Unique perspectives can be applied to old problems. The more open minded you are to new ideas, the better. Fixed thinking can spark upsets and challenges, including surprising behaviour that you don’t expect. Creative insight may occur right now and healing plants/ animals may also help. How, you may ask? They often put you and others in tune with nature and its flow lessens stress. This shift helps to put everyone in touch with what is needed to heal and move forward. Be creative in how you allow this to happen.

Why? Mercury conjunction transiting Pluto, Venus trine transiting Chiron, Venus sextile transiting Pallas, and Mercury square transiting Uranus.

17719797_mFourth week

Telling It to Others

What to expect: Sharing our plans.

What to watch out for: Keeping it to ourselves.

What will it affect? Communication and ideas.

When the Sun enters Capricorn on the 21st, our energy turns toward taking ourselves more seriously. We will likely have a series of conversations about what is we want to achieve in 2016. All of those plans that we came up with last week, we are now speaking. We are sharing with others how we see it, why we see it that way, and what lead up to it.

Why? Sun entering Capricorn, Mercury sextile transiting Chiron, and Mercury conjunction transiting Pallas.

A Really Nice Time

What to expect: Fun and enjoyment.

What to watch out for: Working or something crazy like that!

What will it affect? Relationships, children, nurturing, and self-nurturing.

On the 23/24th, we have two days of fun, joy, and nurturing. These are two great days for taking advantage of the holiday season and getting together with those you love. It’s also a great time to step outside your normal traditions and take the initiative to create new ones. If you normally go on a sleigh ride followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows – an oldie but goodie – you may want to donating your time to a humanitarian cause, taking the time to nurture those who are normally without. You will be surprised by how much this feeds your own soul!

Why? Uranus sextile transiting Ceres and Venus sextile transiting Jupiter.

Full Moon

What to expect: Actually seeing Santa and the reindeers make a shadow in front of the Moon!

What to watch out for: Missing out on that scene!

What will it affect? Family, home, children, and surprises.

The Full Moon is on Christmas Day! And it’s in the sign of Cancer, the sign that loves family and all things related to the home. We’ll likely form our words carefully on this day. After all, what and how we say things to our families is often quite a bit different than how we say it to others, but they can be words filled with wisdom, optimism, and solidarity. Uranus, the planet of surprises, also goes direct on Christmas day. If you have never been surprised on Christmas morning, you can expect to be so this year!

Why? Full Moon at 3°Cn19′, Mercury trine transiting Jupiter, and Uranus stationary.

Time to Review and Dream

What to expect: Dreaming.

What to watch out for: The dissatisfaction that spurs it on.

What will it affect? Our passions, purpose, relationships, and communication.

With time spent at home and away from work on the 26th, we might turn our attention to our purpose. We may get that feeling like “I’m enjoying myself so much… I don’t want to go back to work.” Let any discomfort in this area float to the surface at this time. You’ll have the time and energy to think about what you do want, daydream, and perhaps dream about retirement with your partner. You may even find the inspiration to take those steps now rather than waiting for some distant future for your happiness. Just enveloping yourself in this process will bring a joy of its own!

Why? Sun square transiting Vesta, Sun sextile transiting Juno, Venus sextile transiting North Node, and Mercury trine transiting North Node.

47419266_sLast week of December

Pre- New Year’s Resolutions

What to expect: An impatience to get started.

What to watch out for: Letting negative feedback discourage you.

What will it affect? Our purpose, communications, visions, and humanitarian efforts.

On December 28th, you may jump the gun and make some pre-New Year’s resolutions. They may involve getting into action with a new spiritual practice. You may find yourself creating a routine that you intend to stick to for morning meditation practice or for donating your time weekly to a volunteer position. There is a serious side to your planning and one that likely involves a couple of “shoulds.” “Shoulds” are often seen in a limiting or negative light, but in this case they will be ones that deal directly with something that you have been feeling called to do, but have also felt apathy surrounding. You might feel called to defend a cause or address a problem. You may also receive some challenge for your intentions. It can range anywhere from “why would you want to do that?” to beyond – words spoken from those who love us but feel fear to words that challenge us and only serve to propel us further in the needed direction.

Why? Mercury trine transiting North Node, Sun sextile transiting Neptune, and Mercury square transiting Mars.

An Exotic New Year’s Eve

What to expect: Wanting some adventure for New Year’s Eve.

What to watch out for: Spending money you don’t have.

What will it affect? Relationships, money, and values.

Venus moves into Sagittarius just in time for New Year’s Eve. We’ll feel like traveling for this one. Just make sure that you have the cash after all you’ve spent over Christmas. This energy can make us prone to overspending. I spent one New Year’s doing yoga and meditation with the White Sikhs before dancing to a Bengali version of Staying Alive. Try to find something similarly unique to celebrate the coming year!

Why? Venus enters Sagittarius.

November 2015 Astrology

First week Nov 2 – 8th

35814877_s

The Allure of a Money-Making Plan – Nov 2nd

What to expect: Planning how to spend or save in practical ways.

What to watch out for: Underestimating how sexy a money plan can be!

Who and what it will affect: Relationships, partnerships, money, and shared resources.

At the beginning of the month we can start to put some thought into how to use our resources. Christmas is coming which might spark our desire to save money. In fact, this might be a partner effort. Excitement can be sparked by looking at budgets and planning. You’ll both be able to see into the big picture and patterns of spending might emerge. You may also get some insight on how to save a dollar or how to make your money grow. Yes, sometimes candles, flowers, and a romantic dinner can turn us on but at the beginning of November, a nicely laid out money-making plan can have the same result! Look at it another way – money is the number one relationship wrecker (having no money) so it stands to reason the opposite can send the sparks flying.

Why? Mercury goes into Scorpio, Mercury sextile Pallas, and Mars conjunct Venus.

Inuksuk experiences – Nov 3rd

What to expect: Dreams, visions and guidance

What to watch out for: Forgetting your dreams or dismissing messages.

Who and what it will affect: Thoughts, healing, relationships, nurturing ourselves, and our self esteem.

Some of you have been having prophetic dreams – the kind of dreams you wake of from and wonder if that was real or a dream. If you have been having these types of dreams, pay attention. There are VIM’s – very important messages – embedded, pointing you in the right direction. Others have been meeting the most inspiring and surprising teachers in unexpected places or in unexpected people (and some with animals). They come with simple messages, but sometimes we get so wrapped up in our grief or our guilt that we miss the message. The focus of this time is on our collective and personal guilt. Guilt can make us feel undeserving, filling us with “shoulds” and the need for self punishment. Grief can simply paralyze us. This grief and “the shoulds” can especially show up within our parent/children relationships or within our personal relationships at this time. But we can’t access the power within us if we stay in that frame of mind. Healing is available to us now in big way! We have way more power to serve if we let it go and break free.

Why? Mercury Square transiting Ceres, Jupiter Opposition transiting Chiron, and transiting Uranus Opposition transiting Juno.

Powerful Stories – Nov 6th

What to expect: Accessing the ability to write and create.

What to watch out for: Letting the opportunity slip away

Who and what it will affect: Communication, our egos, our creativity, and personal power.

On the 6th, we have quite a bit of personal power. It’s a great time to share our vision and take people along with us using a story that has a powerful impact. If you have visions of a TED Talk, this is the day to hash out the storyline, practice in front of a crowd, or even deliver it on the TED Talk stage. Messages with a personal story and a compelling vision will have huge impact today.

Why? Sun sextile Pluto and Mercury trine Neptune.

Role Reversal Confusion – Nov 7/8th

What to expect: A time to figure our male/female “roles.”

What to watch out for: Codependence or independence – strive for interdependence.

Who and what it will affect: Money and relationships.

Just before Venus goes into Libra, causing her to be much more romantic and partnership oriented, she wants to make sure that she is sorted with the money situation. There is a love and money dynamic going on here. It’s good on one hand. Venus is bringing us into the money, but we are having trouble balancing our newfound money with our relationships. Some of us women feel that once we have money, we don’t need relationships anymore. Wrong! We just need a different kind of relationship. Men are feeling the discomfort too. Do I stick with the hot mess codependent relationship? I don’t know how to relate to a woman who seems to not need me! It’s the financially independent woman relationship struggle story again. This is a time when men and women are getting closer to figuring out how to relate and be in relationship of a different kind. The rules have changed. We’ve seen some people make it work… so how do WE that do that?

Why? Venus conjunct North Node, Venus opposite Vesta, and Venus goes into Libra.

 44275141_sSecond Week – Nov 9th – 15th

Great Start to the Week! – Nov 9/10th

What to expect: High energy and inspiration.

What to watch out for: Useless agreements or fights.

Who and what it will affect: Social change, getting things done, beliefs, and that about which we are passionate.

On Monday morning, we’ll wake up and feel very purposeful – even ready to change the world. The optimism continues the next day as more opportunities come up. We might be catching up on our inspiring talks as we move through the week. We might hear them in the car or in the background on the radio as we work, but is really inspiring us, making us more confident in reaching out to others and sparking us into action. This week I see lots of intense and powerful conversations about change. Sometime we can be all talk, no action. Not this week! One thing to be aware of though at this time is that if we feel blocked, we can get overly aggressive about our direction. Taking a more feminine approach will be less combative and will make other more receptive.

Why? Sun trine Chiron, Sun sextile Jupiter, Mercury sextile Pluto, Mars conjunct North Node, and Mars opposite Vesta.

Taking the Plunge – New Moon at 19°Sc00′

What to expect: A call to move forward.

What to watch out for: Paralyzing fear.

Who and what it will affect: Our purpose, wounds, and self esteem.

The New Moon is in Scorpio, the sign known for being intense, penetrating, and a bit of a researcher. Scorpios like to plunge to the depths of the psyche and human behaviours. Scorpio is unafraid of the shadowy, murky places and sometimes even enjoys it. This New Moon takes us back to those messages we received the first week of November – the ones that showed up through our dreams or as an unexpected person. At the New Moon we say, “now what?” The path has been laid out for you, but you sit like the character Santiago in the book The Alchemist, wondering if you take the chance and set off on an adventure to find your personal legend. Do you need to go deeper into yourself to uncover what holds you back? What are your blocks, your upper limits, and your false beliefs that are tripping up your forward movement? Now is the time that you can send out intentions (New Moons are good for new beginnings) to start your new way of being or to dive deeper into what is holding you back from doing so. But here’s a hint: going forward is the only way to help uncover all of this. Yes, this New Moon has the power to uncover the dirt, sending us into healing crisis. If you’ve ever experienced a healing crisis (and anyone who has been to a naturopath and been on a detox diet will know), you feel like the biggest bag a crap with a headache the size of Alaska and then when the toxins leave, you feel like you have arrived in seventh heaven. Like Santiago, you will be swirling things around, turning metal into gold. Embedded in the experience is the path to find self-love.

Why? New Moon in Scorpio, sextile Jupiter, and trine Chiron. Venus trine Ceres.

A need to talk about it! – Nov 12th

What to expect: Needing to talk to someone we trust.

What to watch out for: Talking to someone who doesn’t challenge us.

Who and what it will affect: Old wounds, male/female dynamics, and relationships/partnerships.

On the next day (Nov 12th), we are ready to move forward with our plans. We are helped greatly by knowing that the best approach is to balance the masculine with the feminine parts of ourselves. Know that any male female “wars” that happen in the external world are only wars that exist within us. Talking about it with someone we trust will help, but stay away from the conversations that seem healing but are really just commiseration designed to keep us stuck in one place.

Why? Mercury trine Chiron, Venus square Pallas, and Mars conjunct Libra.

Coming to Agreements – Nov 13th

What to expect: Finding middle ground.

What to watch out for: Missing the opportunity for agreement.

Who and what it will affect: Beliefs, relationships/partnerships, and our commitments.

By Nov 13th, we have navigated the murky water. We are feeling and speaking more optimistically. We’ll be able to see into the future and see the big picture. We’ll feel like we have traveled long and far and have now arrived at some truths. We are also feeling more stable in both our relationships and in our money. It’s a day that allows better judgment and agreements in both our personal and business relationships

Why? Mercury sextile Jupiter and Venus sextile Saturn.

38068968_sThird Week – Nov 16th – 22nd

Writing a Masterpiece! Nov 17-19th

What to expect: Feeling inspired to communicate.

What to watch out for: Thinking that you have to do it alone.

Who and what it will affect: Communication, connecting with our tribe, and the things that matter to us.

Nov 17/18/19th will be great days to hammer out a speech or write that book you keep saying you’re going to write. If you can go to a writing retreat, all the better. These couple of days will be auspicious for getting to the heart of matters, finding clarity, and communicating with passion. The group, team, or mastermind effort will help to take this off the charts. If you are not writing a book or a speech, you can easily use the energy for writing an inspiring email or your best blog post!

Why? Sun conjunct Mercury, Mercury sextile North Node, and Mercury trine Vesta.

Grounded Research – Nov 20th

What to expect: Finding really good information.

What to watch out for: Thinking the only way to research is in a library.

Who and what it will affect: Visions, ideas, and finding our path.

By the 20th, you may realize that you need to do some more research for your ideas. Now is a great time to connect with people and explore whether your ideas resonate with others. You can also get them to help you formulate your ideas. It a time when we will also be working synergistically off of each other and realizing that you have that opportunity will get you to your goals faster. It also helps you to expand your worldview. No idea is bad; they’re all just ideas. Watch out for strong opinions at this time and others may be invested in forcing their perspective on you. In fact, one of you may get a little bit pushy. The best approach is just to allow all ideas, even uncomfortable ones, to have a voice and then spend some time discovering your own truth within them or, if needed, apart from them. Trust yourself if your intuition is telling you something at this time. We will be keyed into other on an almost psychic level. We can transcend difficulties with faith and a touch of spirituality.

Why? Sun sextile North Node, Mercury goes into Sagittarius, Venus square Pluto, and Neptune sextile Pallas.

Freedom in the Structure! – Nov 21st

What to expect: Digging deep to keep ourselves nurtured.

What to watch out for: Poo-poohing structure.

Who and what it will affect: Nurturing, self care, and our discipline.

The Sun gets a little intense on Nov 21st before going into Sagittarius. It’s been sort of intense all month because it’s been in the sign that loves intensity, but in its last moment it intensifies even more. Scorpio often gets a bad reputation, so much so that I’ve even met Scorpios who lie about their sign. But this energy brings out the highest in Scorpio – tenacity, staying power, and resilience. If we need to involve ourselves in a task that we would otherwise abandon, today is the day to do it. Once the Sun goes into Sagittarius, we will feel like going off on an adventure. Maybe we’re dreaming of a vacation, which is okay as long as it’s not to escape the things we need to do. Sometimes we have to create structure and form to achieve things we don’t much like in order to really nurture ourselves. Think of taking the time to cook every day. Sometimes we feel like it’s a chore, but ultimately it nourishes us and is way better than the less nutritious (albeit easier) shortcut – hotdogs, fast food, or frozen dinners.

Why? Sun trine Vesta, Sun goes into Sagittarius, and Saturn sextile Ceres.

Fourth Week – Nov 23rd – 30th

2015-11-01 13.23.56On a Mission – Not Sure to Where!

What to expect: Inspiration that takes us out of our comfort zone.

What to watch out for: Trying to control everything.

Who and what it will affect: Creativity, money, relationships, structures, and belief systems.

On the 23 and 24th, we may wake up with a lightning bolt of creativity. This is a time when it’s best to just go with the flow. Trust that things are going in the right direction. The heavens are also gifting us with a tremendous amount to endurance and fortitude to get the job done, even if we have no clue if it’s going in the right direction or if it makes sense. Now is the time to just follow your nose. Resisting or trying to control will only be a recipe for frustration and fear!

Why? Venus opposite Uranus and Mars sextile Saturn.

Full Moon in Gemini – Nov 25th

What to expect: A pull between one side of the coin or the other.

What to watch out for: Going the negative route.

Who and what it will affect: Perceptions, beliefs, and the way we care for others.

At the Full Moon, we are revisiting our thoughts and perceptions. Have we made any moves forward on the new intentions that we set at the New Moon? We get really wrapped up in a knot at this Full Moon, worried if we are being realistic. We might be very “she’s the type of person” with our thoughts and conversations, meaning we will easily pigeonhole people and cling to prejudices. We’ll pick on something minut, but make huge meaning of it – for example, we might see a man eating with a fork in his right hand rather than eating with a knife and fork. We might make a judgment that this person comes from a lesser refined background, but in fact they may have sprained their left pinky and are just living with a modification! Now is a time when our “shoulds” will come out in full effect. We might be feeling extremely doubtful and misconceptions can be strong. But rather than “the shoulds” focusing on ourselves, they become the “shoulds” of society and those around us. “They should do this” or “it should be this way.” In many ways, this Full Moon will challenge us to just deal with what is without judgment and without fear! We have access to it. In fact, the energy exist to take on a very different perspective. We have the ability to tap into higher intelligence and compassion, honesty and quick solutions, caring for and defending others -and ultimately, rapid progress.

Why? Full Moon at 3°Ge20′, Mercury conjunct Saturn, Mercury square Neptune, Mercury sextile Ceres, Mercury sextile Mars, and Mars trine Ceres.

A Change Brewing – Nov 26th

What to expect: Changes that will dissolve old structures.

What to watch out for: Thinking it’s not happening (we won’t likely see it yet!).

Who and what it will affect: Old structures, the collective unconscious, and belief systems.

Neptune went direct from its retrograde motion on the 18th. It’s a planet that presents all that is hidden, from unearthed oil to the collective unconscious. When it goes direct, it works in a bit of a counter intuitive fashion. It exposes things while retrograde, but becomes secretive again when going direct. Neptune will go retrograde in June of next year again; until then, lots might happen out of public view. In fact, I think we might be stunned by what comes to light in the middle of June 2016 and here’s why: Saturn and Neptune are going to square on Nov 26th . Saturn represents structures and Neptune is anything but. Neptune can dissolve structures and did so in 1989 when the Berlin wall came down and again in 1998 when it dissolved a lot of currency across Europe in favour of the Euro. The first of those squares happens on Nov 26th and I think it plants the seeds of the next thing to dissolve on the world stage. What will go? This one is tied to beliefs and the collective unconscious. Why was it that Romeo and Juliet could not be together? It seemed to be a long held belief that no one could remember the origin of, yet they clung to it. Someone somewhere is summoning the courage to go against their parents!

Why? Neptune goes direct, Neptune square Saturn, Sun square Neptune, Sun conjunct Saturn, and Mars square Pallas.

October 2015 Astrology

single - coupleFirst Week in October

The first week in October is relatively quiet on the major planetary action, but that’s okay. So much happened in September that we likely need a couple of days just to absorb, regain our balance, and figure out what it all means.

I haven’t spoken in a while about the asteroids, but if you have gotten my free report, you will know that they provide the detail in between the spaces of our planets. So without much going on the surface, I will tell you what’s going on between the spaces this week.

Co-dependent or Co-creative?

What to expect: An evaluation of our relationships.

What to watch out for: Deciding if we are team co-dependent or team co-creative.

As you know, Mercury is retrograde. We are about half way through it now. This week on October 1st, Mercury is conjunct Juno. Juno is the asteroid that speaks about marriage. With Mercury retrograde in Libra, the sign of partnerships and balance, we will be going over and rethinking how much balance we have in our relationships. This was also the theme of the recent eclipse. Marriage will be on our minds; it’s up for review and reconsideration. We have some help in breaking through barriers and will be able to approach things in an innovate way.

Why? Mercury conjunct Juno, Mars in tense aspect to Uranus.

Strong and Wrong?

What to expect: To be very certain and passionate about our positions.

What to watch out for: Self righteousness.

What it affects: Things/causes we are passionate about, thinking, communication, and expectations.

On October 2nd, Mercury is opposite Vesta. Vesta is the holder of the sacred flame. She is passionate, dedicated, and self –contained. Our thinking will turn into a review of our commitments, what we sacrifice for our passions, and whether or not we’re balanced (especially in regards to communication). We may be worried that everything is coming out wrong. It’s the difference between the non-violent communication of Ghandi and the violent communication of moralistic, judgmental, and coercive communication that starts wars. How are we communicating our passions to the world? We will have some help breaking through. There is a tense aspect that might make us a little aggressive, strong, and wrong. We might feel like others owe us understanding and become a little bit obnoxious about it.

Why? Mercury opposite Vesta, Mars in tense aspect to vesta, and Venus in tense aspect to Ceres.

Second Week of October

The World’s Biggest Eye Contact Experiment 2015
Taking a Stand

What to expect: Revolution.

What to watch out for: Resisting or resistance to change.

What will it affect? Our Values and our ego.

On October 6th, the planets seem to wake up again – when they do, they’ll have a lot to say.

The Sun is in Libra and squaring the Pluto in Capricorn. Those seeking fairness from established institutions, the government, and the status quo will be taking a stand. Libra doesn’t like conflict, but more than not liking conflict, it doesn’t like things out of balance. Where there are perceived imbalances, you will see a stand being taken. You might get a demand letter from a lawyer or a call to answer for unfair actions if you’re a large institution not playing fairly; if you are on the other side, you may be demanding fair play. It’s a day when values are strong and defending them will be high priority.

Why? Sun square Pluto; Venus in tension with Pluto.

Last Days of Mercury Retrograde

What to expect: Crossed wires.

What to watch out for: An intensification of mess-ups.

What will it affect? Travel, communication, relationships, and technology.

Mercury will go direct this week on the 9th, which is good news if you’ve been getting frustrated with all of the communication disturbances. I’ve heard everything from car breakdowns to phones going kaput, but the most common Mercury retrograde experience has been crossed wires. I myself had a conversation with my mother about a TV box – after about 5 minutes of total confusion, we realized that she was talking about the box that transmits the channels and I was talking about the box that the new TV came in! On the Oct 6th, Mercury retrograde is in communication with Saturn, so our thoughts and communications will be turned to serious matters. Questions like “is this logical? Does this make sense? Is everyone on the same page?” will come up for review. There might be some confusion, especially in relationships that needs clarification. When you have those conversations, make sure you’re both talking about the same thing. Our faith may also be challenged.

Why? Mercury Direct, Mercury sextile Saturn, and Mars opposite Neptune.

Getting Our Finances in Order

What to expect: Assessing our values and our valuables.

What to watch out for: Letting it get us down.

What will it affect? Relationships, money, and plans.

On Oct 8th, Venus goes into Virgo and on the 9th the North Node will be there too. Now is a good time for us to go through our stuff, organize, and make a plan. If you need to sell things or give them to charity, now is a good time. Take a look at your finances and plan out your backup, insurance, and other security plans. Our minds will be very analytical. Even if we’re not very good at this or it’s something that we avoid because it gets us down, our financial and other advisers will be on their game. On October 10th, we will be armed with information and will be in serious assessment mode. What needs to go, what is worth staying in our lives?

Why? Venus in Virgo, North Node in Virgo, and Venus square Saturn.

Moving Mountains

What to expect: Ahha moments.

What to watch out for: Uncomfortable feelings.

What will it affect? Old wounds, self esteem, ego, and personal power.

On Oct 11th, we are experiencing another wave of spiritual awakening. It’s a good time to keep a dream journal by your bed and to write out your feelings. We may be experiencing a need to break away from something or make big changes that will help us move forward. There is a tremendous amount of energy for self-empowerment. We will feel empowered, powerful, and ready to stand up for ourselves. Join the world’s biggest eye contact experiment or something like it to share your power.

Why? Sun in tension to Chiron, Jupiter trine Pluto.

Third Week in October

New Moon in Libra – Oct 12th

What to expect: A need to create balance .

What to watch out for: Hasty actions.

What will it affect? Relationships, partnerships, and our sense of self.

The Libra full moon will be at 19o of Libra and opposite Uranus. Throughout the month we have been connecting with our sense of fairness to ourselves and to others. At the New Moon our emotions will be supercharged and we will feel like taking sudden action. There is a bit of tension with our wounds. Maybe we don’t think we can make a difference or we get confused about what is ours. At the Moon, we can sift through the emotional landscape and figure out what we need to do for both ourselves and others – but one word of caution. Because the New Moon is opposite Uranus, we may want to make rash moves. But sometimes we can take actions that we regret so play out your decisions to their full conclusion. Including both worst case scenario and best case scenario in your assessment before taking action will ensure that they are good moves.

Why? New Moon in Libra and Sun opposite Uranus.

Say What You Need to Say

What to expect: Speaking our minds.

What to watch out for: Weirdness in how we come across.

What will it affect? Communications, things we are passionate about, and serious matters.

In the words of John Mayer, “say what you need to say.” On October 13th, with Mercury finally direct and in an amazing connection with grounded right brain thinking, we can say what we need to say. We’ll have some help connecting our words to our left brain. But, if you’re not comfortable with expressing your feelings, it will come across.

Why? Mercury sextile Saturn, Mercury opposite Vesta, and Saturn trine Vesta.

“Big Magic” Strategic Planning

What to expect: Amazing ideas.

What to watch out for: Limited thinking.

What will it affect? Plans, business, goals, ideas, and visions.

The 15th is a great day for strategizing and creating long term plans. It’s also a good time to understand your motives and the motives of your company. Use the 2016 Astrological Business planner to help you. If you want more help, jump into the Astro Strategic Planning Program with Ingrid Insight (keep you’re eyes peeled on your email for this!). We’ll be taking some time to understand what the planets say about each aspect of your business and then using the timing of the planets to plan for 2016. It’s not yet time to take action, but the energy of the planets will give us the opportunity to brainstorm how it should be done.In time you can whittle away at what won’t work, but now you can allow yourself to be idealistic. Because there is not pressure to act on it, we will be able to get it all out there in the realm of possibility. If you tend to get in your own way with this kind of energy, pick up a copy of Big Magic, and read it before you get to this date. If you have confidence and upbeat energy, you can make anything happen – even what seems impossible.

Why? Mars trine Pluto, Venus opposite Neptune, and Mars conjunct Jupiter.

Fourth Week in October

2015-10-04 11.39.10The Lies We Tell Ourselves and Others

What to expect: Things not adding up.

What to watch out for: Dishonesty.

What will it affect? Communications, relationships, and power dynamics.

On the 22nd, Mercury will square Pluto. Mercury has had us thinking about relationships. Communication is the cornerstone of relationships, at least in this day and time. How honest have we been with ourselves and therefore others, especially our significant partner? We may feel like we can outsmart the situation or someone might try to pull a fast one on us at this time. By the next day, we may feel a need to express our truth, but it will depend on how accurately you value yourself. Here’s a hint: we are all valuable. So as we express and exert who we are, we can know that it will be all worth it in the end – even if it doesn’t go well with others.

Why? Mercury conjunct Juno, Mercury square Pluto.

“I love you” – Oops! Did I say that?

What to expect: Confessions of love.

What to watch out for: Uncensored expressions.

What will it affect? Relationships, social situations, and communication.

On October 25th, “I love you” might accidentally float out of your mouth. It could be some equal sentiment that you may not have wanted another to know, but found yourself saying anyhow. We are discovering our true passions and their intensity may have us bubbling up beyond our ability to hold back. Even if your timing is all off, let yourself enjoy the feelings unapologetically.

Why? Mercury opposite Uranus and Venus conjunct Jupiter.

Last Week in October
43274876_sFull Moon in Taurus

What to expect: A bounty.

What to watch out for: Not allowing yourself to receive.

What will it affect? Our spiritual connection, receiving, and security.

It’s a Taurus Full Moon and a farmer’s moon. We are cultivating at this full moon and reaping the harvest in both our lives and our businesses. It’s in a positive aspect to Neptune so we may be experiencing the tactile with the divine. A ceremony using your five senses, one that puts you in touch with your spirit, would be a great way to use this Full Moon. Think of Yoga or dance and definitely include music. Give thanks. Even though you are harvesting and you are receiving, you want to make sure that you are fully receiving and in celebration. Receiving with gratitude creates the cycle of abundance.

Why? Full Moon in Taurus.

Letting Go of the Pain.

What to expect: A little bit of hurt.

What to watch out for: Letting disappointment overwhelm.

What will it affect? Relationships, money, and childhood wounds.

On the 27th, we might experience a little bit of wounding related to love or money. It likely involves money as Venus in the sign that loves to have a back-up plan (Virgo). But just as easily it could be that someone who we rely on lets us down. Whatever pain we experience at this time will help us to see things in their true light and will redirect us back to the truth within.

Why? Venus opposite Chiron.
