May 28 – June 3

Full Moon in Sagittarius

What to expect: Culminations
What to watch out for: Leaping before we’re ready
What will it affect? Healing, learning, adventure, direction

The Full Moon is at 8 degree’s of Sagittarius on May 29th. The Sabian symbol for this full moon is “a mother with her children on stairs”. This Sabian symbol reminds me of a scene out of the Sound of Music. The governess, who will later become the legitimate mother of the seven children, stands on the spiral stairs with the children saying goodnight to a ballroom of party guests. She is their teacher, their caregiver and she lovingly helps them up the steps and off to bed. One of them, the oldest girl, wants to stay and socialize among the guests. The current teacher/future mother lovingly says “no, you’re not ready yet”. She’s almost there, but has a little more to learn! At this Full Moon, we know the path forward. We are getting ready. The party helps us to become clear. We want to meet that person, or learn that dance or wear that dress. All of this represents ambitions and adventures that initiate us into maturity. But we have some more learning to do. At the Full Moon, look around for that help! A loving motherly teacher will be there to help us with our direction and the next steps to take. The Full Moon is also sextile the North Node, the point in the sky responsible for taking us in the right direction. You can sure, that this loving teacher will give you the right directions and steps to take.

But we have some work to do first! Mercury is sextile Chiron, the wounded healer and so we get information at the Full Moon about what we first need to heal. Chiron is in Aries, so it favours Aries types of activities. It speaks of building confidence and maturity before we can take those big steps on our own. To help with the healing do things such as speaking up and asserting your wants and needs. Or explore other avenues for self-expression or self-discovery that help build confidence. The keyword here is test, try and explore.

What to watch out for: limiting your vision
What will it affect? Projects, collaborations, entertaining

Friday, June 1st and Saturday, June 2nd are lovely days! Venus is trine Jupiter putting us in a good mood. It’s a great day for socializing and entertainment. Venus is in loving and nurturing Cancer and is trine Jupiter in Scorpio. Get out the food, wine, and ambiance. This energy is great for building trust and nurturing relationships. Mercury is also in Gemini and is trine Mars in Aquarius. If you want to strike a business deal, now is the time to generate that conversation. Don’t miss this opportunity to wine and dine important clients and potential collaborators. Venus will also trine Neptune in Pisces. Artistic, philanthropic or visionary activities will also be the in thing. The ideas you come up with will be future-oriented and humanitarian and may even change the world. If you’ve been all talk and no action, now is the time to solidify ideas and plans and move forward! By June 2st Mercury will sextile the North Node allowing you to also form your dream team! Work/Life Balance

What to expect: Conflict
What to watch out for: Hurt Feelings
What will it affect? Relationships, Ambitions, Family

There are always challenges. This week on June 2nd Venus is square Juno and the challenge will be balancing relationships. Venus in Cancer wants to hold her loved ones tight and in a square to Juno feels a little neglected by her relationship. Juno is in Aries making us busy exploring the world and ourselves. We may need to find ways to balance our relationships to avoid hurt feelings or a fight. Saturn is in Capricorn and is opposite Pallas in Cancer, so we have difficulty envisioning that balance. Our ambitions are getting in the way of seeing the possibility of balance and connection with our family and loved ones. A synthesis is possible.

Horoscope: May 21 – 27, 2018

May 21 – 27

Creative Release

What to expect: Creative opportunities
What to watch out for: Distracting through work
What will it affect? Creativity, emotions, work, patterns, communication

On May 21st Uranus makes a sextile to Pallas who has just moved into Cancer. Pallas in Cancer helps us to sort through emotional patterns and with a sextile to Uranus in Taurus the means to this may be very unusual. Alternative therapies, not the usual ones like acupuncture or homeopathy, but ones that are way out there, like the John of God crystal bed or the biofeedback mat will aid in any breakthroughs.

Then on May 22nd the Sun will Sextile Chiron in Aries and we get another chance to change up our healing modalities. Chiron is now in Aries and the wounded healer pushes for more direct ways to release anger. It’s best to stay away from the fist fights or other forms of direct slap downs in releasing that anger. Instead, go for a kickboxing class. Also fencing or practicing your aim at the shooting range are good ways to dispense pent up baggage. We also have the chance to express some of the energy that is coming to light through art, music or writing. This is because Mercury is Sextile Transiting Neptune creating a dreamy magical connection with the divine. The pen is mightier than the sword, colour is your therapy, music is your cure.

There are, however, two energies to be aware of. The first is Mercury in Taurus opposite Jupiter in Scorpio. This brings about certainty and confidence in judgment that in these fixed signs tends to be unbending – Strong and wrong might be the best way to describe it. The second is Venus in emotional cancer opposite Vesta in Capricorn. Instead of facing our emotions, we may pour ourselves into our work. The problem is when we disconnect from our feelings or try to escape them through work we disconnect from important information; information that we get by interacting with our emotions and being curious. It’s the lack of connection that can lead to faulty thinking. By default, we fill in the blanks to any missing information with our past stories.

Project Launch!

What to expect: Getting project off the ground
What to watch out for: Insecurities
What will it affect? Projects, self-esteem

On the 23rd The Sun newly in Gemini will trine Mars making it an excellent day to get projects off the ground. Mars is in Aquarius and is super open to ideas and change

There are just a couple of project pitfalls that you will need to keep in mind as you get things off the ground. Jupiter will square Ceres. Ceres in Leo feels nurtured by praise and with Jupiter in Scorpio squaring it, we overdo the suspicion. We might think we are showing our care by teaching or sharing our knowledge, but unfortunately, it’s the kind that is tinged with TMI (too much information) that undermines our self-confidence. Mercury in Taurus is square Ceres Leo. This energy comes from the other 90-degree angle making it what we call in astrology, a T-Square. This energy has us speaking the truth and thinking we are “just being practical. We think that we are supporting by stating the facts, but instead, the facts also serve to undermine Leo’s need for praise. This is how it may look in the real world – Someone shows you someone else’s work or product that looks and sounds a bit like yours. They also point out how much more resources and customers they have. You start to wish they had kept their information to themselves as you launch into full-on comparisonitis. You may even think that somehow they stole your ideas. The best approach is to tune out any well-meaning distractions and stay focused on your project. Don’t let it throw you off your game!

The thing is we don’t want to kybosh a great project by going into emotional distraction. To top off the distracting energy, Chiron in Aries will square Pallas in Cancer. The danger is that emotional patterns will mix with our wounds around our self-expression and leading to overwhelm and the possibility of quitting. Courage is now being called for. Do we continue in the face of a lack of support? Or because others see us as green and not up for the challenge?

The Colour Pallet of the Divine

What to expect: Creativity
What to watch out for: Missing the sale
What will it affect? expression of art, creativity, communication

Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways. Oscar Wild

May 25th is a highly creative day! Jupiter will trine Neptune heightening our intuition and creativity. Both are in water signs and are swimming in the realm of deep esoteric knowledge and the divine. Colour is transcendent, music is mystical, words are poetic. Create

Mercury will also trine Pluto and we have a chance to sell! Don’t be afraid of the sale. We create a painting, and yes, the picture speaks a thousand words, but most times we forget to ask for the sale, leaving us wondering why nobody is buying our pieces of mastery. If you don’t believe in being a starving artist we now have the opportunity to take our artwork and sell that painting with the same vigor that a salesperson selling brick would. The world will see why it needs your art and will be convinced of its value and worth, and your extra words help to seal the deal. Venus is opposite Saturn and the value of objects will be high on everyone’s mind, but they need to be left with no doubt that they are making the right decision!

Horoscope: May 14 – 20, 2018

May 14 – 20

Bull or Bear?

What to expect: Changes in the material world
What to watch out for: Ill-matched values
What will it affect? Money, values, land, natural resources.

We move into the Taurus energy in a big way on May 15th. It’s a Taurus New Moon, but also Uranus will go into Taurus on the same day. The New Moon is at 24 degrees of Taurus. The Sabian symbol for the degree of the New Moon is “A vast public park”. Public parks are created for the community, come into being with public funds and are designed with community needs in mind. Some have monkey bars for children; others have paved paths for walking or running. In these spaces, we can find barbeques, picnic tables, large lofty trees for shading and wide open areas for sport. It’s the ground that we create to toss aside all differences and enjoy what we all have in common. Because they are funded with public money, the values of the funders are reflected in the park. Is it a well-kept park? Is it safe and safeguarded? Do the facilities actually meet the needs? With this New Moon, we can envision the spaces in our lives where we come together with others and where we focus our resources. If our values are not being reflected, we can set intentions for bringing in structures in the material world that will.

On the 15th Mars will also enter Aquarius and the first thing it will do is square Uranus which moves into Taurus the same day. The earthy practicality of Taurus gets challenged by the idealism of Aquarius. Mars wants to push for change and normally Taurus will push back. But as Uranus the hum bringer of change lands itself in Taurus, it joins forces with the Mars energy in Aquarius and pushes for invention, rebelliousness and even revolution. This is not going to be an easy one as out of all of the signs, Taurus is the least likely to volunteer for change. What’s up for improvement? Our money and resources; the value we derive from them and the relationship we have to them. The land we use as resources; the food we plant on it and nutrients we receive from it. These are some areas ruled by Taurus that may see change. There have been things that have shown up that suggest change is coming in some of these areas. For example increase in popularity of crypto-currency, community farming, legalization of marijuana for recreation (in Canada), and changes to our land through natural disaster to name a few. We’ll know more about what changes Uranus will bring to the areas ruled by Taurus in the coming days.

Strange Love

What to expect: Support that seems weird
What to watch out for: Dismissing the strange
What will it affect? Communication, values, home, family, family business and business tribes

On May 17th the Moon, Mercury, and Pallas join up and begin a deep discussion. It’s the kind of discussion that combines emotion, strategy and thought, and ideas. It’s a true head and heart discussion. Lots of ideas will emerge and we have an opportunity to see the big picture. By the 19th Venus will move on a couple of degrees and will enter into Cancer the sign that values home, nurturing and mothering. In business its deeply connected to real estate, family business and business tribes that feel like family. When she moves into Cancer she will also be in a sextile to Uranus, newly in Taurus. If anything in our material world, in our relationships or in our value has been shaken by this earth-shattering move, Venus will throw her loving arms around us, give us hug and tell us it will be alright. She will sextile Uranus and will likely lend a fresh perspective and possibly nurture us with something that may seem strange. For instance, if she hands you a boiled egg and tells you it will be alright. Okay, it’s a little bizarre, but take it. That egg is a result of her earlier discussions with the Moon and Pallas and will come in handy and feel like just the right thing in the midst of any turbulence you may be experiencing as a result of Uranus’ new move.

New Directions

What to expect: Decisiveness
What to watch out for: Excess baggage
What will it affect? Structures, details, relationship, directions

On May 18th Mercury now in Taurus will trine Saturn in Capricorn. This is excellent energy for concentrated thought and focus. If you need a day to go over details and make big decisions, this energy will help us to slow down, and use considered and well thought out caution and make the right decision. Mercury will square the nodes on the same day and will encourage us to use any detail or decisions we unearth to revise our route and move in a new direction. We won’t have to do it alone. Juno, now in Aries will grab our hand and partner with us to help move is into new and uncharted territory. This is because Juno will also be trine the North Node

On the 19th Mars will sextile Chiron. When we move in new directions, it’s always a great time to check what’s packed in our bags. Are we carrying excess and unneeded baggage? Mars sextile Chiron is a chance to take a course or workshop focused on inner work and self-development. The energy provides the opportunity to see our wounds in new ways and moves stuck energy. By May 20th Venus will square Chiron bringing more stuff. This time relationship patterns, hurts, and wounds. Know that it’s time to let go of them. Venus is in Cancer and may react initially by lashing out or withdrawing and putting up a protective shell. But be gentle with her woundedness and eventually, her loving and nurturing style will tend to your wounds.

Why? Mercury Trine Saturn, Mercury Square North Node, Juno Trine North Node, Mars Sextile Chiron, Venus Square Chiron
