This week starts with some difficult conversations. Mercury in Cancer fills us with an itching to talk about family, home, feelings, and needs. Topics can range from real estate to family drama to our childhood and its impact on us. It starts on June 26th when something starts to feel not right in our relationships. Mercury is opposite Juno the marriage asteroid, which is currently in Capricorn so we could be having conversations about the structure of our relationships. It helps if we have some prepared notes or questions. Here’s some ideas to get you thinking by Modern Love.

By the 27th as Mercury squares Jupiter in the relationship sign of Libra, opinions are strong and we express ourselves with over confidence. Mercury is also approaching a conjunction with Mars in Cancer, so we are likely to be very decisive. With these two in the water sign of Cancer, we are likely to make emotional rather than logical decisions. There is nothing wrong with emotional decisions. However emotional decisions are usually best made, and others are more receptive, if we come from a place of evolved emotional intelligence. The problem is that trust may be lacking and we may try to push our agenda as Mercury also opposes Pluto. The saving grace is that Mercury will also connect with the spiritual planet of Neptune, helping us to communicate with our intuition and with a higher power. Use the energy to seek guidance to find the right approach.

Feeling Good About It

The first couple of days of July we become clear about who is on our path and supporting us and who is not. Paths may diverge at this time, but with Ceres making a sextile to the North Node, we achieve a certain amount of self-respect and self-care in stating our needs and moving forward. With or without others!

Relationships Tests

What will it affect? Relationships, partnerships, commitments

Pluto and Juno have been traveling together since May. When they were in close contact they were helping to transform our relationships and partnerships and helping us to clarify just what partnerships mean to us. Conflict and power struggles may have come up at that time. With these two in the karmic sign of Capricorn, we may have also clarified our karmic connections within our partnership. These two are now separating and as they do, Mars makes an opposition to Pluto and the Sun makes and opposition to Juno. Relationships are still on our radar, and our intentions and our integrity may be tested at this time. Did we really transform our relationships? Did we learn the karmic lessons? If we did, we may have established a new standard for our relationships and partnerships as a result. Our new approach to partnerships (both relationship and business), will likely now be challenged. As we step out to be ourselves we may have some opposition from the old school camp of partnerships. Saturn trine to Vesta will give us a sense of dedication to our goals, passions and new commitments. Perseverance to a new path, even in the face of obstacles and opposition is supported.

June 19 – 25

Powerful New Ideas

Chiron, currently in Pisces, has been responsible for bringing up a great deal of wounding in the last little while. That’s because Saturn has been transiting in a square to it. As they have their hard talk throughout the year, other faster-moving planets have come along to say “what about this” poking at the wound but also helping to deepen the understanding of what it’s all about. This week on June 19th, the sun will come along to do just that. Fortunately, on the same day, we have some other energy aspects that will help to ease the pain. Venus will hold hands with Juno. Sometimes commitment can seem at odds or at least take something away from love and romance, but at this time, the two energies work together. We really see who is there for us and their actions even make our hearts sing.

Necessity, sometimes stemming from heartache, failure, and wounds are the mother of invention, so our tears will not go to waste. On June 19th Uranus and Pallas also meet up and the combination brings about innovative ideas and approaches that help us to move in the right direction. These two make a sextile to the North Node, which is currently pointing us in the direction of Leo. Pallas is the female warrior woman who leads with her fair wisdom. Likely the ideas the ideas will come fast and furiously as Mercury also makes a connection to all the planets involved! Her innovative approaches strengthened our courage and bring about inspired leadership. The only problem is that on June 20th Mercury will also square Chiron making us a bit indecisive. It’s scary to let go even if we have all evidence that moving forward is a much better idea.

June 20/21 is also summer solstice, we are putting into action the next phase, the third quarter of the year and this next quarter will carry much of this same energy throughout.

New Moon – Cancer

June 23rd is the New Moon. The New Moon is in Cancer and it’s a great time for setting intentions around family, home and all things nurturing. The New Moon will also be conjunct Mercury, so it’s also a good time to delve into lineage or hereditary issues. Finding out who we are or where we come from can be extremely healing now. Be warned, sometimes when Mercury is so close to the luminaries, it can be difficult to see the woods for the trees. We may become very emotional at this New Moon. Conflicts and imbalances in relationships are the triggers. The good news is that the conflict can also generate some relationship alchemy and we can transform parts of our relationships into something better.

June 24th we move into to some highly optimistic energy, but it’s also a day when we can be hasty and risky. Saturn is also opposite Ceres, so it’s important to listen. If we are the ones feeling unheard, try not to take it personally. It’s a day when we might do things just to get attention. To get the attention we seek and our emotional needs met, sometimes it’s better to be in a place of giving rather than taking or expecting. Mars is trine Neptune so it’s a great time for philanthropic or charity work. You will be amazed by how much it satisfies and fills you up.

June 12 – 18

Shifting Paradigms

What will it affect? Communication, learning, teaching, Illusions

On June 13th we have a great day for learning and teaching as Mercury trines Jupiter. Mercury is in Gemini, its home and there have a business mind and a thirst for knowledge. It’s connection to Jupiter expands this thirst. Great topics to delve into include justice, law, news, journalism, and media. Expect an unusual experience that may send you off into an unexpected direction as Uranus trines the North Node. Will you discover something that helps to bring in a new paradigm? Maybe it’s a rediscovery! Be open to shake-ups in all that you thought you knew!

At the same time, Mercury will square Neptune, causing a bit of confusion, deception or illusion. Sometimes illusion can be fun. We love it when we’ve been tricked during a magic trick. We even love it when a character gets away with a good scam in a movie. Or when our friends lie to us with the hopes of a pleasant surprise like when we are thrown a surprise birthday party… It has a “you got me good” thrill to it that delights us.

At other time this energy can be the confusion that comes up when we are learning something new. Especially if it represents a big paradigm shift. It’s true that sometimes learning something new can be confounding and upsetting. But both of these energy channels are good ways to channel the Mercury square Neptune energy. Stay away from big business decisions or signing things that will have a long-term impact as this energy can lead to problems for those sorts of transactions somewhere in the future.

June 14th and 15th we are filled with ideas for work. The only problem is that the Sun is opposite Saturn, so though we are filled with ideas, we may have very little backing for them. It may be the way in which we are presenting them. Do you lack confidence in your pitch? If you don’t believe in it, nobody else will either. Check your unconscious beliefs about what you think is possible. There may also be real obstacles, and with Sagittarius and Gemini in the mix, what you are presenting is likely go against some belief system. If you really believe in your own ideas, don’t ’throw them away… park them. There will be another day!

Neptune Retrograde.

Neptune turns retrograde on June 16th. The interesting things about Neptune when is goes retrograde is that it tends to clear up some off the haze and things that have confounded us can suddenly become clear. This is likely to happen first and immediately in relationships as Neptune sextile Juno, the Partnership and marriage asteroid on the same day. Expect any conversations you end up having to be tinged with flirtation. Mercury and Ceres meet up in Gemini and we end of feeling nurtured by a little teasing.

Tricky Decisions

What will it affect? Communications, decisions, battles

On June 18th we have lots going on. Pallas, the goddess of fair and just war will make a couple of connections on June 18th. Pallas is one of the most masculine goddesses. Independent and wise, she see’s patterns and makes decisive judgments. But she only takes action where she sees the need to. This week on June 18th, she may need to take action. She allows us to borrow her energy as we are faced with a decision which may be difficult. Mercury squares Saturn on the same day, bringing us face to face with a hard decision. The decisions may make us feel bummed out and negative with a “no way out” attitude. The good thing is that Pallas will help us to make a good decision. And even if it feels uncomfortable at the moment, it promises a good outcome.
