September 2014 Horoscope

Fear and love… aren’t they a paradox! In the words of Morchebba, “fear can stop you loving… love can stop your fear… but it’s not always that clear.” September starts with Mercury moving into Libra. Talk of love and relationships will be steep in our conversations for the next couple of weeks or so. Venus moves into Virgo on September 5th bringing out our practicality in both relationships and our finances. Should I love? Should I spend? Is this practical? But are these questions cloaked in fear?

Mercury and Pallas are moving through Libra in September. They come up against the slow moving planets, Pluto and Uranus, and square off against Juno. Relationships are changing and the tension is creating an ability to see new patterns and communicate in new ways. Though things are tense, Libra gives the ability to see all sides of a situation. Libra will push for fairness though, so don’t be surprised if there are a few intense conversations during the first couple of weeks of Sept. On September 6th, Chiron, the wounded healer, will be trine both Vesta and Juno, forming a grand trine. A grand trine is just what it sounds like: a big triangle in the sky formed by the planets wherein there are 120o between each other. So much healing (Chiron) is been happeningin our passions (Vesta), and committed relationships (Juno); by the end of the month, we will be feeling more committed to a new way of being in relationships.

At the beginning of September, the Sun and Venus are moving through Virgo . As such, they’ll be forming nice aspects to Juno, Pallas, and Mercury. We’re using that Virgo energy to clear away the clutter. We are beautifying and organizing and, as we work, things are becoming crystal clear. You may have some aha! moments and you might even realize that you knew all of this before, but there is something different about it now. It’s a deeper understanding. For example, maybe you knew that you always attracted men like your father in relationships, but a whole new understanding about that dynamic emerges.

On Sept 7th, the Sun is opposite Chiron and old wounds may re-emerge. Uranus will also square Juno on the same day. Juno is in Cancer and has an emotional need for closeness. When she doesn’t get her needs met, she can be clingy, bitchy, and moody – and, in a square to Uranus, it might come out in extreme emotions! It could also show up in the exact opposite way with a compete and total withdrawal of emotion.

There is always one planetary aspect that leads to a doorway through difficult situations. This September, that aspect is Jupiter sextile Pallas. Have you ever seen the painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat? It’s a pointillist painting. Pointillism, a style of art, uses dots. The painting is in the Chicago Art institute and if you’ve never seen it, it’s a must see. Stand close and all you see are perfectly round, coloured dots, but stand far away and you see a masterpiece. One may ask themselves:how did he know where to put the dot and what colour to choose? It’s a scene that brings out not just the sublime but also the multidimensional aspect. This is what the energy of Jupiter and Pallas will be like at this time. Getting close will help you see the patterns and pixels of the problem. But then stand back. It will help you to see the big picture and something much more than you could ever expect will emerge.

The culmination of all of this will come the next day on the full moon. The Moon will be full in Pisces and conjunct Chiron. When the Moon is full, the Sun is in opposition to it. Nothing obscures the sun’s reflection on the surface of the moon. It’s why we see the moon as big and glowing. The Sun in this aspect represents an area that will need to be integrated. The Sun will be sextile Juno so we can integrate relationships with our sense of being. It will also be sextile Vesta so our passions can also be included. The Sun at the full moon is at the Sabian symbol representing ‘a volcano erupting’. Additionally, Uranus is throwing some stubbornness into the whole energy pattern. As the Sun’s lava at the full moon hits the Moon and Chiron in water, it might be quiescent or highly explosive. If, however, there are massive eruptions, they will be incredibly relieving. As the lava spills over and rolls through the hills and valleys the next day, we may become obsessed with certain ideas. We may try to force them on others, but introspection is a better way to use the energy. If there is anything that needs to be released, Pluto in a trine to Ceres the same day will help us with the process of letting go.

Mercury still in Libra will sextile Jupiter in Leo on the Sept 10th. This positioning gives us a chance to envision our hopes and dreams in greater detail. In the words of Shakespeare, “all the world’s a stage.” It’s a sonnet with illusion and disillusion both of which can creep in on the same day as Venus is opposite Neptune. Look instead for inspiration…. you do get to create it (life, that is) as you like it! On Sept. 11th, Mercury will conjunct Pallas and new ideas might spark up. You may have conversations and mid-sentence realise it’s in fact an ‘ahha!’ moment. It’s a good idea to talk to as many people as possible right now – get your ideas out. This will help to solidify any learning that has been happening in the last little while. The Sun is sextile Saturn the same day, so you may even make a commitment to a particular path and, as you commit to that path, you start to understand yourself more and feel more comfortable within.

Learning about yourself doesn’t just happen. There are four stages of learning, the first of which is unconsciously incompetent. Then consciously incompetent, consciously competent, unconsciously competent. Depending on your level of development and consciousness, you will handle the energy on Sept 13th differently. Mars will move into Sagittarius on that day and everyone will be feeling restlessness to one degree or another. Risk taking, interest in pursuing ideas and sharing them will increase. Mercury will oppose Uranus on the same day, so insights can come to us quickly. We might also have foot in mouth syndrome. This is where our level of consciousness and skill will come in. Uranus and Pluto are still dancing in a close square with one another so any aspect to these guys is likely to bring about drama. If you find yourself grasping to take back words that are floating out of your mouth, you may need to work a little more on your consciousness raising.

Also on the 13th, Saturn will conjunct Vesta. This positioning provides immense intensity to the energy of Saturn in Scorpio and we might be feeling a strong sense of responsibility and restriction with respect to our passions. Saturn trine Juno will help us to commit to them. This move is not without a great deal of emotion – Jupiter is square to Ceres and we might find ourselves trying to manage our large emotions with one oral fixation or another (smoking or eating). Practicing EFT (emotional freedom technique) or CBT (cognitive behaviour technique) is a better way to manage large emotions.

As soon as we commit to this new direction, some restructuring may be needed. Venus trine Pluto and sextile Saturn this month will help with that adjustment. We are building something that will endure. Saturn in Scorpio has a healthy skepticism and lends some strategy to the endeavor. It also helps to set up good financial boundaries and structures, ensuring the enduring.

Sept 17th may be a day of information overload. Uranus will oppose Pallas and information might get scrambled which might be a good thing if we are forging forward with new ideas and leading new unconventional paths. It might be a chance to use that EFT to permanently change our neural pathways. This change is great if we have been stuck in old patterns that are holding us back. Mercury conjunct the North Node on the same day promises a day of embarking on new and positive paths. We may however need to do some weeding to get rid of relationships that no longer serve us. Venus opposite Chiron will help us to do so. It’s important to listen without interrupting when we are having those relationship conversations as Mercury squares Juno that day as well. We might find ourselves fighting to get our point across and you want to make sure that any decisions about friends and partners are made with clear understandings, not just assumptions. In the midst of all of this, we also need to think about the children. The healing continues when Chiron sextiles Ceres on the 19th. One thing that children like is stability. The combination of Venus sextile Saturn will provide some stability and good judgment will help with that healing process by the 21st.

Mar is Square to Neptune on Sept 21st. It’s a bit of a sketchy transit, one where we might feel tired. So much change has been going on that I wouldn’t be surprised if the expression of this transit is just pure and simple exhaustion. It’s definitely not a day to start new endeavours. There is another reason to take a pause on the 21st. Pluto goes direct on Sept 22nd and with that forward motion increases the transformation. Pluto is in Capricorn, changing the structures of our system. All institutions’ have been feeling it, including government, business, education, and even the institution of marriage. The Sun will enter Libra on the same day, so the energy will move toward finding a balance in our lives.

The new moon on the 24th is in Libra and widely conjunct Venus. This new moon will be a good time to set intention in our relationship. Sept. has provided us with so much assessment of our relationships and commitments that we will now know exactly how to phrase our intentions. They will be so clear that the universe will have no confusion about bringing them into being. Venus is in a sextile to Juno and Vesta . We now have a chance to integrate the feminine (Venus) and our work and passions (Vesta) with our identity as lovers and partners (Juno) – and do so without conflict. Wow! That’s good news. Say good bye to frazzled Superwoman. Jupiter trine Uranus will get us out of our old thinking rut, pushing us into new and inventive ways of living.

Read what’s in store for each sign:

Aries: Maybe you’ve been expecting your hubby to be provider. Isthat a natural role? Or an imposed one? This month you will seek new ways to ensure secure foundations without society’s imposed rules! Shared resources, the way they come about, and how they are valued/shared will be a part of the conversation.

Taurus: Do you feel like you’re always trying to pull teeth to have a conversation in your relationship? Your way of relating will be challenged this month. Confrontations are on par for the course. You might be saying good-bye to anything or anyone that doesn’t work. Check your communication style first to make sure that you’re coming across in ways that are engaging rather than dismissive.

Gemini: Do you need to have something that only you own to give yourself value in your relationships? If you have been feeling a lot of demands without recognition, assess how well you have been holding and tooting your own horn. If you are letting others take credit for your work or your contribution, it’s time to stop. If it’s a team effort, make sure your name shows up in the credits – and not in small print.

Cancer: Sometimes in order to express yourself fully, you need to be seen. This month you will realize how having someone in your corner cheering you on is important to your identity. That person could be your partner or it could be supportive kids. Conflicts that arise in these areas are smoothed out successfully with a little effort. You realize that you don’t need to lose yourself, but instead can find yourself through your important relationships. They just need to be the right ones.

Leo: You may be dealing with some Karmic debt in your relationships right now. You might be dealing with dependencies that are reminiscent of childhood matters. Did you have role reversal with your parents? Power dynamics may be smoothed out and brought to balance. It’s likely to be one that’s been traveling through your lineage – and you have the opportunity to correct it once and for all. You may benefit from the help of a therapist or even a spiritual teacher.

Virgo: Is your partner and lover also your friend? This is what you need right now. Someone to whom you can also talk. Someone who, when the sparks dies down for a while, is still someone you like being around. You are redefining what a partner means to you and healing how you relate to, or maybe even how you chose, partners. The biggest correction happens in the area of communication. You are starting to realize that there is a different way to speak and listen and it’s making you reconsider your communication style.

Libra: You might be feeling a little married to your career at the moment. Maybe you are working hard to make a go of something – maybe it’s a business or a new career. This month, you’re learning the meaning of “work smart, not hard.” It’s a lesson that’s not easy for you. You may be looking skeptically at books like The 4-Hour Work Week. Maybe you need to clear out old value systems, ones that say that money only comes if you work hard.

Scorpio: Right now you may be realizing a need for a spiritual/philosophical connection in your relationships. The craving for deeper meaning will help to push you toward a deeper contemplation and introspection. Connect with your inner child to understand. Don’t be afraid to have full out conversations to find out what you inner little one needs. Deeper and more spiritual connections with others are possible only when you have learned to have a deeper connection with yourself.

Sagittarius: You are being challenged to heal your trust issues. Perhaps they stem from your childhood. Say the mantra (connected to the root chakra): “I have everything I need, all of my needs are met” as you walk through your day. Notice what happens when you are connected to the mantra. There is some unconscious clutter that can emerge right now to allow you to better trust both yourself and others.

Capricorn: You can’t deny your hopes and dreams any longer. You’re gonna need to speak up. You may not be steady on your feet yet in terms of yourself expression. Taking a course or working with a speech coach can work wonders – wonders from which your relationships will really benefit. You’ll start to realize that you can have it all. All you have to do is speak up and express your needs and feelings.

Aquarius: You have been juggling all the balls in the relationship. You’re feeling like you need a little more balance in the sharing of responsibilities. Actually, you might be doing quite well now in your career and haven’t adjusted to the idea that you can hire help. The idea of delegating might feel unbalancing and maybe even too expensive. Now is the time to do a cost benefit analysis and to work with your money issues related to abundance and living well.

Pisces: Joint parenting brings about a sense of fulfillment for you this month and it is also a source of healing. As you express yourself within this joint relationship, it helps to free up your sense of individuality. You’re healing your beliefs around who you are and who you need to be. What you contribute and how you’re able to give and receive, both from your children and from your co-parent, may shift for the better. You may find that familial conflicts are considerably lessened by the end of the month.

August Horoscope 2014

The first few days of August, we’re going to be feeling like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. We want one thing and do another. We say one thing and mean another. Don’t worry if nothing we say or do makes sense; just let it all bubble to the surface.

The double personality madness starts with Venus squaring Uranus, trine Saturn and trine Chiron. Venus in Cancer is sensitive. You must break through that shell to get to her love. She is easily hurt and takes a long time letting you into let you inside. And on August 1st, she just might attract a fight with sizzling Uranus in Aries, ready for a fight. Something inside of her is ready to shake things up. Venus is the attractor and she doesn’t get into action without Mars. Mars is in Scorpio, and it’s squaring Jupiter in Leo. Mars in Scorpio wants something deep and intimate. He pushes for that deep intimacy. And if he doesn’t get it, that square to prideful Jupiter in Leo might bring out some over-the-top behavior. At the same time Venus is trine Saturn and concerned with building stability. In a way this is the age old Saturday night DATE problem. She wants it, he wants it. If she goes there, she worries that he won’t be there. Venus is in the throes of passion, asking, the question “are you my boyfriend?”. No matter what happens it will bring about some much needed healing as Venus is also trine Chiron.

In fact in August, we have Mars, Saturn, Vesta, and Ceres all transiting into Scorpio. All these celestial bodies will be forming natural squares with the planets transiting through Leo. They are the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and, by the middle of the month, Venus. This movement creates a theme for the month. Your “girls-just-wanna-have-fun” side will be at war with your “insecure-psychoanalytic-need-to-super-analyze-everything” side. It makes it hard to relax and the trick to making this month work, will be to go with the flow.

The Scorpio planets will form natural trines to other planets in water signs. Neptune and Chiron in Pisces and Juno in Cancer work with the Scorpio planets. They give us the potential to heal, be selfless, and to focus on what is good for our relationships.

The Leo planets have the help of Uranus in Aries. So it’s fire against water this month. We’ll need a floating candle to make it work. The fact that floating candles exist make it possible!

Conversations help and the next day on Aug 2 when Mercury is conjunct Jupiter on Aug 2 to give us a chance to talk it out. It is a better time to do so now rather than in the midst of passion. It’s a time when we can have conversations which are free of emotion and we can look at things philosophically or spiritually. But we do have that whole Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing happening… With Mercury squaring Mars on the same day, things can turn toward more arguments and conflicts. So much for emotional detachment!

Three days later Saturn will trine Chiron. This will be a wonderful opportunity to pull out your journal and write about our childhood patterns. This action will help us get in touch with why we’ve been behaving the way we have. We can get nostalgic and find comfort in whatever the past brings up for us without holding on. It’s a day when we’ll remember things from our past that will help us put our actions into perspective. And we can also let go of it in appropriate ways.

Venus squaring squares the North Node on August 6 and so we can now make decisions about our relationships. What stays and what gets left behind? Who stays and who get’s left behind?

Though we are setting out on a new relationship adventure, we may not have it all figured out. But on August 7th, Venus is sextile Pallas, helping us to envision relationship plans. It’s a day to create a great designs and a great strategy. Plus Mars helps the inspiration along by trining Neptune. We can use the energy to think up actions that are less ego-based and better for the whole.
On August 8, the Sun conjunct Mercury makes it a great time to express ourselves and get our ideas out there. With the Sun trining Uranus, what we come up with may be super inventive. And with Mercury trining Uranus, we will be able to express those unusual or inventive ideas. But here comes Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde again…. Mercury is squaring Saturn. Though we may feel excited and inventive, there is a little bit of a damper on what we’re expressing. Saturn may not think it will work and that we are being too optimistic. Saturn may show up as the voice inside of us or someone out there about whose has an opinion we care about. That’s okay. It gives us something to think about and on August 9, when the Sun is square Saturn, we’ll do a reality check on our plans. We will be able to question if this is something that is self-serving or if it’s something that IS realistic. Venus is square Ceres so ideas we have formed in our childhood about our ability to attract, may come return for a reality check. Check back to your journaling and what came up on the 5th. The next step after becoming aware of our childhood patterns is to transform them. But the trick will be to use a new measuring stick, not an old one. The Aquarius Full Moon on August 10th will help us to look forward and be inventive. It will help us to incorporate our inner freak and accept our emotional differences. There’s a small temptation to alienate. Maybe we think that we aren’t accepted or we can’t merge our need to be ourselves and to follow our passion with relationship needs. But, just in time, Mercury will sextile the North Node. Success is ours for the taking. We’re finding the recipe for making floating candles!15493656_s

On August 12th, Venus will move into fun -loving Leo and things get much, much better!!! It’s a great time to have fun with our beloved; to take pride in them and show them off. It makes them feel good and cared for too. This approach also helps to soften the conversation. On the same day, Mercury is sextile Juno. This movement lends to better communication within our relationships. And by the 14th when Mercury sextile Ceres by, we will start to feel super loved and understood. Thank Goddess! Before Mercury leaves Leo on the 15th for Virgo, it will also sextile Vesta, helping our minds to meld in a solitary purpose.

Mercury will then go into Virgo for three weeks. It will be a time of drawing up plans, makings lists, and organizing. Mars will aid in the planning by sextiling Pluto on the same day. This will help us all to focus, get strategic, and get results. By August 16th, the Sun sextile Juno will makes us feel like a dynamic duo in our relationships. And by August 18th we’’ll feel on top of the world; as Venus will conjunct Jupiter. We will feel like we are hand -in -hand with our beloved, looking out over the beauty of the world from the top of a Faerris wheel! So nice. Even though you are feeling on top of the world and things have been going so well, don’t make any commitments. Mercury will oppose Neptune so some important details will come out of focus. And with so much good feelings, it’s quite easy to gloss over the little imperfections… which over time may not be so little in the long run. The high will continue and on August 20th (*eh em*.. my birthday) when the Sun sextiles Ceres, so we will feel so nurtured, loved, and nurturing, and loving.
The high continues on August 21. We’ll find ourselves having a deep, purposeful, transformative and productive kind of conversation. It’s the delicious, soul -gratifying kind of conversation that we women crave. Conversations with others will make us feel transformed and inspired. And by August 22nd, we’ll be diving into a deep commitment to our life’s purpose. Our life purpose may not just be a humanitarian cause or a career, but also our relationship with others and with ourselves.

On August 23rd, we might have one of those moments when we think everything is too good to be true. We might have a thought! “I’m too happy… something is going to go wrong.” This is another Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde day. On one hand, we feel motivated to heal hurts with Mars sextile Chiron. But, it might come out all wrong with as Mercury is opposite Chiron. The problem is we might think we know how the other person is going to react. And having convinced ourselves of an idea not based in the present, but on our own woundedness, we act and say things that sabotage. Remember when Harry wanted to marry Charlotte in Sex in the City.? In her woundedness and impatience, she decided to deal with him taking so long to ask her to marry him. He was ready to pop the question, but when she blurted out in total frustration, “set the date Harry… just set the date!” – he broke up with her. Oops! Oh well… Keep going back to your childhood hurts. You can transform them now.

The New Moon on August 25th is in Virgo. It’s, opposite Neptune. We might want a clear plan, but Neptune is fogging things up. The day has a couple of other frustrating features. The big one is that Mars is conjunct Saturn which will make us feel a little thwarted in our efforts. It might also make us feel a bit angry if we are trying to move too fast. This is not a get-rich-quick or get-thin-fast transit! If we are distracted by others who seem to experience fast and magical results, we will feel angry. It’s a great energy though for keeping focused on a project that unfortunately may be long and tedious. Mercury sextile Mars and Saturn on the same day will help us put the needed energy into a project. If we can feel satisfied with hard work, painstaking (and sometimes long and tedious) actions, we will see results. Patience is the key. And dealing with our anger in productive ways will also help. Take it out at the gym or practice forgiveness.

On August 25th, Venus is trine Uranus, so we might feel bored and like shaking things up to stir up some interest. Might I suggest listening to some out of the ordinary /bizarre music as you plod away at your projects? This will help you to shake things up without sabotaging all that you have been working for. This transit has the potential to bring an exciting person into our lives. Man… Things were going so well in the relationship department, but now we are once again assessing things. With Venus square Saturn the next day, we might put some distance between ourselves and our beloved or feel a bit cool towards them. The following day Venus squares Mars so those cool feelings will not last long. Sparks will fly and it’s likely to end in a fantastic fight or some fantastic sex…. hey…, the energy has to go somewhere! Be a lover not a fighter!

There is some more Dr Jekyll /Mr Hyde energy at the end of the month. On August 29th, Mercury will square Juno. If you have been fighting, it will be a continuation of the fight. If you went the sex route, you might be able to use the energy to listen to one another. The problem is that Mercury will be conjunct Pallas on the same day, so we may not be able to separate what we are saying from our own agenda. Listening might be difficult because we have a strategic goal in mind. Venus is sextile the North Node, so though it might take some patient conversation, it will be a fortunate day for love. Let’s face it. We need these hiccups sometimes to help us realize what we have. Venus will sextile Juno on the 31st helping us to get back on track with a loving and fulfilling relationship. Which is a nice ending to the month… I like when that happens!

Aries:
You don’t feel serious about anything. You want to tell jokes, and zipline through trees beating your chest like Tarzan. You’re the ringleader for fun this month. The only problem is a partner is telling you to be serious, saying things like, “be grown-up” or “you’re not being responsible.”. You partner might just be reflecting your own childhood beliefs about fun back to you. What are your own childhood beliefs about fun. How much are you truly allowing?

Taurus:
You may be purchasing your dream house. It might also be a piece of dream commercial property for your that business you have always wanted to start. The only problem is that your partner (love or business) may not find it sooo dreamy. They want a little more compromise here, but you’re not so willing. Part of the problem is not that your partner is worried it won’t work, or the investment is too big, or that you are not being realistic. What they’re worried about is being left behind. Find ways to incorporate them into your dream.

Gemini:
You love to talk, Gemini, and the speeches are rolling off your tongue like you were running for mayor. There is a little problem though. Are you running for mayor? Your speeches will reach fair and wide, but you have remembered this month that you are the aide, the spin doctor, not the star of the show. There is still glory in your position. You can watch Downtown Abbey or The Butler to remember this.

Cancer:
You are rocking in the business world right now. This month you might even have a huge financial windfall! The only problem is your ego – you will need to keep your ego in check. If you step on others to get your own success, you might find it backfiring a little later down the road. In fact a windfall may feel like a burden. Maybe you’re getting attention that feels uncomfortable or the amount of money is uncomfortable. Allow these experiences to help you to grow. Your financial growth is challenging you to recognize your own inner value.

Leo:
You are shining like the f*cking morning star! Sorry I had to swear there… but Leo already shines, so adding an expletive could only express how much more you will shine. There will be mom or a mom figure pulling on your ear, saying, “Don’t get too big for your britches!” . This mom figure might even show up in the incorporated believes or your inner child. It’s inner child work time this month. Avoid this deep inner work and the way you shine this month might come across like a fire cracker rather than the morning star. No matter what you do everyone will notice… aim for making a good impression.

Virgo:
You might find yourself embroidered in several conflicts – With your neighbours, with your siblings, with everyone. You have strong opinion now. The problem is that you think everyone has a “f*cking problem”. The only problem is that you might not be sharing that you have a problem. All these conflicts and fights are happening inside. In fact, this all might be seething inside and being re-enacted in your head over and over again. You might be thinking that saying anything is just pointless. Maybe not… Assessing what you say, how you say it, and when you say it holds the key.

Libra:
You have grand hopes and dreams and they are even larger this month. You want to be keeping up with the Joneses. At this time, you think the Joneses are your friends. But are they really? You might consider following wikihow’s steps to stop keeping up with the Jones (there are pictures) . By the time you get to number #7 (Pursue the things you care about in abundance”) and number #8. (“Share yourself around”)…, you should be feeling pretty good. You could also consider taking the lucky bitch course.

Scorpio:
The things you are achieving right now in your career are amazing. You have are the envy of many. But inside you’re feeling a tug. Is this what you want to be doing? Is this who you are anymore? All this fame is putting pressure on you to be a certain way. You might find yourself driving to work in the morning and signing along to Britney Spears. “You Wanna Piece of Me” one minute and “Circus” the next. So rewarding. So exhausting. Is it what you want?

Sagittarius:
Screw it all… you might find yourself on a last minute trip to Katmandu. You are going for some fun.. and dammit your deserve it… but as you take your month long journey abroad you find that you’re traveler savvy is no longer working. Maybe you are doing it the same old way. Backpack, two changes of clothes, dirt cheap dinners, but in truth you have outgrown that style of travel. Your inner leisure is in denial about wanting a Ritz Carlton. They aren’t saying it out loud. But the way you’re acting has the doorman, the bellhop, the cab driver, and all whom your interacting with thinking, “What does she think this is? The Ritz Carlton”? Time for some inner honesty.

Capricorn:
Bank error in your favour! This month you might find that you are in the money. It’s from your partner or, insurance, or maybe even an inheritance. You know what happens when people win the lottery. They start getting phone calls from charities they have never heard of before. Long lost friends show up. Then the guilt comes out. Should you help? They are a good charity. They were a good friend… and they are in need. What are your hopes and desires? Get clear about them. Then find a way to balance your self-interests (which are healthy and good) with others (whom you need and want to keep good relationships with).

Aquarius:
Things are going extremely good in your relationship and are they’re about to get better. This month you’re going to challenge the idea that your career success comes at the cost of your relationship. Yes, there is a clash. That’s because your career will be on fire this month too. You are reaching the pinnacle of your success. It might be a bit threatening to others… Your honey might feel that cold feeling when the Sun moves behind the clouds. You just have to remind them that the Sun is still there. Your job is to stay in your power and show them that they are loved. This is what a true leader does!

Pisces:
You have so much to give this month. But you need to be careful. Your desire to give must be done with true selflessness, which generally you are good at. But the energies now at play have you a little self righteous. Flexibility is the key. If you’re all preachy while you’re helping out, others will just see you as high and mighty and may reject your help. Even if your way of doing it is “oh so obviously the right way”, refrain from pushing it down everyone’s throat.

July Horoscope 2014

Most would agree that the feminine is hard to explain. With the feminine there is a beginning which begets a new beginning… which then begets another new beginning! This is the creative process. It dips and weaves, spirals and descends -and that is exactly what July is going to feel like: the Feminine!

So let’s start at the beginning, which will beget a new beginning, which will beget another new beginning and so on… you’ll see. It’s hard to explain the feminine – you just have to feel and experience, but I’ll try to explain it. The goddesses are chiming in strongly this month, especially at the full moon. Venus and Mercury are moving into emotional Cancer. Jupiter is moving into Leo, expanding the creativity, and Saturn is going direct.

It starts on July 1st when you will all be glad to hear that Mercury will be going direct. It means the end of the communication craziness of the last three weeks; however, expect it to go out with a bang. July 1st  is a holiday in Canada and who knows what a bit a libation can do… so do be careful as the volume will get turned up on the Mercury confusion before it moves into clarity.

Two important days I want to highlight early in the month are July 4th (Happy July 4th, USA) and July 8th.  These are days when the sun will be activating the Pluto-Uranus square I keep talking about. The Sun will oppose Pluto on the 4th and I am flashing back to a July 4th back when I was a teenager and snuck over to Port Huron, Michigan (sorry Mom!). I lived in Sarnia, Canada back in those days. If you don’t know it, it’s featured in the documentary ‘Bowling for Columbine.’ Here’s how it went down: one of the guys we were hanging out with got excited and decided to pull out a gun. Instead of shooting it in the sky, which may have been a better idea, shot into the gravel, sending us all flying in all directions and yelling at him with various expletives for his idiocy. I had a similar New Year’s Eve experience when the fireworks were aimed in the wrong direction… So here is my word of warning to all (especially to all Americans). Celebrate… but leave the guns and fireworks at home. Sun opposing Pluto will not make this a good combination. The second red flag is on July 8th when the Sun will square Uranus. It will bring up similar excitability but at least it’s not a holiday.

On July 6th, Venus will square Pallas. We might have a sudden realization that somehow we have lost our inspiration for creativity. Another way that it might manifest is that we are innocently walking past a mirror and all of a sudden get a glimpse of how much we have let ourselves go or that something is just off. Maybe we would like to forget all about it, but the next day Venus sextiles Uranus and all of a sudden we feel a spark generated by a love interest or an opportunity that suddenly comes our way. We may kick ourselves because we were caught off-guard and wish that we had our sh!t a little more together. In the moment, we are awkward and kind of fumble through it… It’s good though. Even though I see a little bit of discomfort coming up, an opportunity to make it better is just around the corner.

Venus squaring Chiron on the 8th. With this aspect, we will be able to assess our relationships for how much they are supporting/undermining us. Yes, sometimes the people around us do not support our best interest and we have to do something about it. The Sun will trine Chiron on the 9th, causing a renewed sense of purpose and a bit of a spiritual awakening. Pallas the asteroid goddess allows us to see patterns. She’s also the warrior goddess related to political activism is currently in Virgo where she is concerned with health and wellbeing through food, exercise, and creativity (usually in the crafts like sewing or weaving). She also tends to be very analytical here and, on the occasion, extremely perfectionist. She opposes Chiron on July 10th so she might get down on herself for all of her bad habits and vices and (horror of horrors!) ways that she has let herself go, but this is a powerful opportunity to see things from a different perspective and to bring about healing. She is also supported by Saturn which will sextile Pallas on the same day, supporting us with a commitment to new patterns of behaviour and self-discipline. The Sun in nurturing Cancer is trine Saturn and sextile Pallas giving us the courage and commitment to make the changes. If you know a bit about astrology, you will see that with all the sextiles and trines happening a pattern formation called a kite is formed and that is exactly what we will feel like… like we are flying a kite. But for the kite to sail, you must get your kite together, take a bit of a run, and throw it up in the air. Take advantage of this energy and you will be amazed at the way the kite will dance.

The full moon falls on July 12th at 20o Capricorn. This  event will bring to fruition all that began at the New Moon in Capricorn in January. It happened on January 1st so it might be easiest to think back to our New Year’s resolution. Capricorn is all about achievement, business, structures, and government, all things that have been experiences huge changes due to Pluto’s transit in Capricorn.  Now with the full moon in Capricorn, we will see just how far we have come. This full moon is doing some pretty spectacular things. It’s squaring the north node, Ceres, Vesta, and Mars all in Libra. If you’re used to that Libra energy being fair and gentle and compromising for the sake of balance, just throw things out of balance and see what happens. It’s a talk to the hand, “oh no you didn’t” kind of energy. Remember that goddesses can be loving and kind and nurturing, but also fierce.

Let me just give you a quick and dirty on what each of these means: The north node is not a planet – it’s a point. In Vedic astrology, they call it the dragon’s head. It’s a karmic point, meaning when the planets aspect this point, it brings to a head karmic situations.  Because it’s a point, a square to the head also means a square to the tail. The square to these points is a rebalancing of karma and a decision point. Which way are we gonna go? Are we sticking with the status quo or are we so fed up with things not working that we try something different?

Ceres is the mother goddess responsible for the cycles of nature, nurturing and loss, harvest and grains. Because Ceres is associated with the cycles of nature, she is also associated with birth and death – in Libra, it’s all got to do with relationships. Ceres in a square to the full moon brings a culmination of the balancing act on meeting our needs vs. others. Nurturing ourselves vs. others, being selfless, but to what extent? Ceres may feel like she’s doing all the cooking, cleaning, and forgetting herself… but not for much longer!

Vesta is the tender of eternal flame. The vestal goddess’s role is to keep that flame alive. It represents passion and dedication. In Libra she wants to share this passion, but with this square to the full moon it may cause a fear of merging. The fear may stem from a lack of gender equality within relationships (Libra). Can I just make a point here – All you men who read these horoscopes… maybe you call yourself a feminist and that is why you’re here… but are you still letting her do all the fire-tending?  Ego, patriarchal, and sometimes very unconscious male entitlement is being called into question here. Vesta might feel like she’s doing all the flame-tending and she doesn’t want to hear “but that’s your role honey, not mine” just because she’s the vestal goddess.

Mars is in its last days of being in Libra, prompting one last fight for fairness. This might bring up conflicts with authority. Back on March 1st when Mars went retrograde, remember that Vesta also went retrograde. Both of these guys are fiery and forceful, both are very directive, action-oriented, and passionate – often associated with sex.  First they chased each other in a retrograde motion through Libra where all of that energy was turned inward. Many of us felt frustration, passive aggression, or thwarted. Some of us were able to sublimate that energy into inward transformation, while others felt like they were self-destructing. In May these guys both went direct. Finally we felt like we were moving forward. We started saying what we needed to say, doing what we needed to do, and getting our grove on if we needed to. With this square to the full moon we might feel a little edgy or aggressive. If anything wasn’t said before, it might get said now.

Beware all who wish to maintain the status quo…. all four (Mars, Ceres, Vesta, and the north node) will also be making a trine to Venus in Gemini. Venus will fortify the energy with a sexually integrated, full bodied feminine-inspired, heart-centred passion, and creatively fortunate/fertile energy. If the patriarchal energy emanating from the full moon has not transformed in the last six months, I dare say, it will not stand a chance at this time.

Just two days after the full moon on the 15th, Mars and Vesta will be conjunct. I’m gonna call this aspect ‘orgasmic.’ If you had a massive fight at the full moon, now might be the time for makeup sex. Not only that, you might be in the throes of passion and it becomes so intense that you have to push it away or say “don’t touch me”. You’re not rejecting… just managing the intensity – it will get that intense! The only problem is that we may not be able to manage the intensity. In that case, this energy can also be sublimated into a religious or fanatical intensity. We might see that on a sociological level.

The third manifestation of this aspect is that it is often associated with a reset of financial markets (according the Bill Merridian)… envision the stressed stock broker yelling buy buy buy…. sell! Or sell sell sell, buy! Which will they do? I’m not sure, but I think we can expect something to happen. Only days later, both Mars and Vesta will move into Scorpio. Money doesn’t do too well in this sign, so we may see some wonky stuff with money. At any rate, money is ruled by two goddesses, Venus and Juno, so the goddesses will decide. The same day Uranus, the planet of surprises, will sextile Juno, so hopefully this will be a nice financial surprise and two days later Chiron will square Juno… I see some financial healing here. Venus will enter Cancer on July 18th so we will become more conscious of our financial needs. Hopefully this is not because things have gone astray.

On July 16th Jupiter will enter Leo. It has been in Cancer for the last year, expanding all things Cancer: home, family, nostalgia. Now as it moves into Leo all things Leo will see expansion. We will become more outgoing, enthusiastic, and our self-expression and creativity will increase. Children can become a theme – having fun, theme parks, entertainment, and gambling. In fact I just volunteered to work at a bingo hall and had my training in the last week of June. I’m doing it for charity, but I haven ‘t been in a bingo hall since the 80’s. But smoke-filled halls have been replaced by fresh air, colourful bingo dabbers with computer screens. There are break open ticket machines and lotto stations… and more on the way… My volunteer trainer excitedly told me about the new shipment coming in within days. AND as I sat in the office for the training presentation, one of the staff bust through the door to report the numbers of clients for the day. A record high -and it was Monday afternoon! We are gearing up, folks. AND I have to tell you, I think I might check out bingo on one of my off days with my friends. The Sun also moves into Leo on July 22nd and on the 24th will meet up with Jupiter, kicking off the playfulness and optimism.

While Mercury was retrograde last month, we had some time to review. If we used the time wisely, we would have gone over some of the decisions we have made earlier in the year. Now, after a brief pause, we will start having conversations, making decisions. and moving forward with plans. This might start out a bit bumpy on July 22nd when Mercury opposes Pluto. At this time, we might be trying to persuade others of our point of view. By July 24th we can get pretty fixated on our point of view – don’t be surprised if there are some blow ups! On the same day, Mercury will trine Saturn, so we might find ourselves being direct and having serious conversations. A day later Mercury will trine Chiron, helping us to check in with our intuition and listen to our heart’s wisdom. This might be a good time for meditation or talking things out with a trusted advisor.  Mars will move into Scorpio that day, so stormy and intense emotions might surface. Mars just spent about three months in Libra, trying to sort out our relationships. Now it will move through Scorpio until the middle of September. During this time we will want to go deep, transform, and get passionate… and if that doesn’t get expressed, we might go a bit shadowy with it. In fact, it starts off a bit shadowy on the new moon.

The new moon occurs on July 26th. It’s a Leo New Moon… I have to say. I love all of this Leo energy! But the New Moon will still be conjunct Jupiter making this a ‘larger than life, extra, over the top, I am the centre of attention or at least I should be’ New Moon. The problem is that it is squaring off with Mars, newly in Scorpio, bringing up ego battles. Mars in Scorpio can be nasty so if you can, stay away from the drama. Oh and if Jupiter and the Sun in Leo have you thinking about gambling (or bingo), I suggest you have a budget and a responsibility buddy to keep you in check. That square to Mars can cause a loss.

By the 27th Mercury will square the north node at which time we might find ourselves changing directions. If we do make a course correction, we will be supported on July 28th when Mercury will sextile Pallas, helping us to see the big picture and to plan. On the same day Venus will oppose Pluto, so a partner or someone we love might not like what we are saying, where we are going, or what we are planning. This is a day when jealousies or control tactics can come out.

At the end of the month Mercury will square Ceres. We are convinced we communicated what we needed and now feel frustrated, even become a little sarcastic at the lack of support. Mercury then moves into Leo the next day and immediately squares Vesta when we might have a drama queen moment. The problem is that we may not have communicated in a way that was understood. If this happens, find a way to clarify your thoughts and your feelings. If you thought you communicated them, try again, this time with a different approach.  Hint: I once wrote a poem to a guy thinking that I was sharing my thoughts and feelings. Finally after three months of wondering why he wasn’t getting it, I finally said “you don’t understand… I let my guard down” to which he replied “oh, well why didn’t you say so!” and suddenly all was patched up. What I learned – keep it simple, straight-forward, and don’t write a poem!

Read what’s in store for each sign:

Aries: Some awkwardness might come up at work with your work style or work presentation. You may not believe that you can express your politics and be yourself at work. Any reflections on this will only help to heal whatever is going on in your subconscious. You’ll have plenty of support to move forward with any new healthy regime. In the second part of the month, Mars moves into your 8th house making you more intense with your partner. Now to September could be a very sexy time.

Taurus:Are you killing your passion and creativity pretending to be friends? Perhaps you believe this is the politically correct thing to do, but you might realize that there is a little something more there that needs to be released. You are aided in a new commitment toward self-expression this month. Mars moves into your 7th house. The next couple of months you could experience some conflicts with your partner.

Gemini: Creating a home atmosphere that is comfortable and welcoming comes as a source of embarrassment this month. Maybe someone drops by and your look around noticing the dust and the cobwebs in the corners that never seemed to reach your consciousness before. You can make a commitment to a drop-in-at-any-moment welcoming home this month. In the second part of the month, Mars moves into 6th house turning you into a bit of a workaholic for the next couple of months but also helping you with a cleaning spree.

Cancer: This month you find that more than ever you have the perfect thing to say, the perfect comeback, but as usual it’s a day late and a dime short. You’re given the chance this month to sharpen your mind and up your wittiness. Maybe you take an improv class or a joke-telling workshop to help you out. Mars moves into your 5th house at the end of the month helping you to be a little more entertaining and moving you into a couple of months of the need for sport. Join a volleyball team or a running group.

Leo: Perhaps you find yourself opening a bill this month and you realize that you haven’t seen this particular bill in months. In fact, is seems that your partner has been hiding it from you (god knows why) but it sends you into a need to figure out a creative solution for your budget. Mars will move into your 4th house at the end of the month which might cause you to rearrange – and you know what happens when you rearrange. You find old papers or photos and it stirs up unconscious stuff from the past.

Virgo:  Your strong identification with your politics might be clashing with your relationship this month, causing a dichotomy both in your relationship and also within you. You might be taking a strong stand just to take a strong stand. What do you really believe? As Dr. Phil says, you can choose to be right or choose to be happy! Later in July, Mars moves into your 3rd house causing you to be a bit argumentative. You can better use the energy to support a collective neighbourhood cause. If you can be the spokesperson, you can use the argumentativeness to advocate for something beneficial.

Libra:  You may have been so focused on your mind and thoughts in the last little while that you may experience a breakdown this month . If your mind does decide to shut down, consider it a gift and a path to healing, but also to reconnecting you with your soul and just being.  Mars moves into your 2nd house later in the month causing you to strongly identify your worth with your roles or possessions. The challenge is to find your worth just because you exist and not because you have a certain job or drive a certain car.

Scorpio:  Perhaps you would like to use your creative inventions to advocate for social change but there’s something off about it. Remember the “boobie” bracelets that were created to raise funds for breast cancer? They got banned in high schools…. same deal! You can find a way though. Mars moves into your first house later this month causing you to be very assertive in showing off your stuff. Just remember to be inclusive and tactful.

Sagittarius: Are you integrating your career success with your emotional needs? If you have been checking your emotions at the door in order to be “professional” at work, things might come to a head. This month you will be challenged to integrate both feelings and professionalism.  Later in the month, Mars moves into your 12th house. Over the summer, you may feel you are being asked to take a back seat or you may have people working to undermine you. If you can, work alone for the next couple of months.

Capricorn:  You may find yourself in a legal situation that challenges you to advocate for a certain position, requiring you to make a speech or to do some public speaking. Don’t worry – whatever discomfort comes up will challenge you to heal an old wound around communicating. Mars moves into your 11th house so, if you work collaboratively with others, you can achieve your goals. If someone wants to do it their way or you want to do it your way, you will get into trouble. The key is to fully collaborate.

Aquarius:  You might be seeing patterns and you can’t figure out if you’re dreaming it, if someone told you, or if it’s just psychic. How you came across this information may be a source of contention. Maybe it’s so accurate that you’re accused of insider trading. How could you possibly know? The point is that it brings up your own discomfort around who you are and what you know, which sometimes cannot be explained.  Mars moves into your 10th house causing you to be quite ambitious and you may experience conflicts with those who compete against you. Try to align your goals with theirs and things should go much smoother.

Pisces:  You might find some conflict with how impersonal you seem in relationships. Perhaps you are just being yourself, but you are starting to annoy others because you are soooo fair. Others might just want you to take a position. Mars moves into your 9th house later in the month, so don’t go to the other end on this. At this time, you will defend your beliefs strongly and may force your opinions/beliefs on others. You are being challenged to honestly express yourself and your beliefs – and then detach from others’ perception of your beliefs.
