April Horoscope 2015

2015-04-01 08.17.27April 2015 Horoscope

April starts with a second eclipse. The first was a solar eclipse on March 20th and, on April 4th, a lunar eclipse will occur.

These eclipses are very much about relationships. The eclipse on the 20th of March was in Pisces. It was about relationships, but relationships on a collective, transpersonal level. The eclipse on the 4th of April is in Libra and will bring it back down to the personal level. Marriage, money, and business relationships will be the focus. Libra is ruled by Venus and represents our values. It is our ability to attract both love and money on a personal level. Pisces is ruled by Neptune and is the higher octave of Venus. It’s selfless, compassionate, captivating, and transpersonal. We are now bringing heaven to earth in our relationships with this next eclipse. A new definition is emerging. Sudden epiphanies may emerge on or around the 4th. During the weeks between the eclipses, we have been experiencing something akin to the dance of the seven veils. What is the truth? What is love? What is right? Who has the right to judge? What is our responsibility? And who do we blame? As we remove each veil, each layer of truth is revealed and examined.

The eclipse is also keyed into the Pluto/Uranus square. This square has been responsible for the social unrest and has upset the balance over the last four years. Though the last square happened last month, they are still being set off by this eclipse. This Libra eclipse re-balances the scales of justice. There have been several times when things have happened that just didn’t added up. It has felt like information was missing or a detail was glossed over. Mercury will be at the South Node during this eclipse, close to the sun and Uranus – the truth will be revealed and it may be revealed dramatically.

If you are in a relationship or partnership that has been going through trouble and you have felt like ‘this shouldn’t be happening’ or if it has been stalled or thwarted due to outside influence, now is the time when you will see things set right… or close to right. Things are not always fair in life, but this is one of those times when it will be. Though it has seemed on the surface to be difficult and there has been some mayhem, there is always a silver lining in these difficult times. They force us to come up with new solutions, to dig deep and find new ways to do things.

It’s been the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) that have been affected by the Pluto/Uranus squares. These are the natural dichotomies in our lives. Our self interest vs our relationship interests. Our career vs our families. As our roles shifted in these areas –within ourselves, at home, in our relationships, and in the workplace have lost our balance. We went through a period where nobody understood who or how to be but we are now finding our way into a new definition of relationship.

What is also going on in the background is also helping the story along.

24154570_sOn April 1st, a genuine apology may come. Yes I know it’s April fool’s day, but this one will not be gag as Venus sextiles Chiron, which will bring a blend of healing in love into the mix.   A grand trine with Mercury, Juno, and Saturn on the 2nd will help to ground, stabilize, and give form to a new type of relationship and group effort. This grand trine will also help us stabilize our finances. Juno is the marriage asteroid but she is also associated with financial accounts. Shifts have been occurring to help re-balance the accounts and this month they will finally have a little more tether.

On the 6th, Mercury will make a positive aspect to Jupiter. Jupiter will go direct in a couple of days, but this is a last chance to reflect on all that we have learned and take in the full picture. It will also be connecting with Pluto and Uranus over the next couple of days, so we may be overloaded with thoughts and new information – or maybe just integration of all of the information that has come to light since the eclipse.

On April 8th, Jupiter will go direct. It’s been in a retrograde motion since December 8th, 2014, sending us inward to explore all things Leo – our leadership, our creativity, and what we can afford to invest. Now that Jupiter is going direct, we can move forward with all of our plans – sort of. We will want to launch that program, show up with our leadership, and unveil our creativity. We will want to take those educated risks; by now, we’ve done our homework. The next couple of days will seem golden. The Sun conjuncts Mercury on April 11th, making it a good time for communication and asserting ourselves. On the same day, Venus will move into Gemini. Ideas for money-making will abound. On April 14th, Mercury will move into Taurus, motivating us to create concrete plans and maybe wanting to sign contracts. But even thought all engines are fired up, I caution you to wait just a while longer; April has a couple of red flag days. These are days that are not good for making big decisions or launching business deals. You should also stay away from the days surrounding them.

On April 15th, Venus will oppose Saturn. We may feel pressure to make commitments out of fear or a sense of duty and responsibility. Thought this is not technically a red flag, it’s not the best circumstances to move forward – then the first real red flag happens. Mars squares Jupiter on April 17th which makes us impulsive and prone to not having what it takes to go the distance. The second red flag happens on April 19th when Venus squares Neptune. The blinders will be on with respect to the finances and we may not be able to accurately assess relationships for reliable partnerships.

The New Moon is on April 18th at 28o of Aries. It’s widely conjunct Mercury and trine to Pallas, the asteroid that helps us to see patterns and the big picture. Mercury will also be sextile to Neptune which will give us vision and intuitive insights. Yes, we are seeing the big picture and yes, we are developing a good strategy. But we won’t yet have all we need to nurture this direction. Now is a good time to set intentions for pioneering a new direction or endeavour. Venus will be sextile the North Node, so it will be a favourable time to make connections that represent possibilities for partnership or financial support. But there is a third red flag: Mercury squaring Jupiter on April 21st. It makes us over-confident and perhaps prone to miss details.

So, there will be a lot of energy around wanting to move forward with our plans but it’s best to take our time and be thorough. Now is a great opportunity to test our ideas: get responses and deepen our market knowledge. Both Mars and Mercury will be Taurus in a favourable aspect to Pluto on April 22nd. This is great for research, gathering knowledge, and coming up with practical solutions. Venus will also be in a favourable aspect to Jupiter the same day so there will be lots of optimism… we are on the right track and we are progressing! Just don’t jump the gun!

On April 24th, Mercury will sextile Chiron. This is a great day to meditate; take time to go within and to sit with your thoughts. There has been lots of information coming at us all month, so this is a good day to get our mind off of things and to allow some healing and incorporating. If you’ve read my past horoscopes you know I am a big fan of spa days, but a solitary walk in the nature or a bike ride might also do the trick.

The end of the month brings us back to relationships particularly due to Venus sextile Uranus, which may stir up some excitement in the relationship department. We can use the energy to be spontaneous or to put some zing into a new adventure. Mars will make an easy aspect to Chiron on the 28th, motivating us to direct our energy into healing. The Sun will sextile Neptune on the 29th which encourages us to tune into our intuition and trust our senses. We may become clear that some relationships are no longer serving us and, on the same day, Venus will also square Chiron in order to help us to let go of that which no longer works.

Taurus:

The lunar eclipse is in your 6th house of health. Libra:

The lunar eclipse is happening in your 1st house. You are finding ways of integrating who you are, maintaining your boundaries, and working with others. You are justified in your fight for recognition of your boundaries and it is finally dawning on you that this is so: you knew it, but you now believe it.

Scorpio:

The lunar eclipse is in your 12th house of the unconscious and secrets. You are building a relationship with your unconscious and finding out what it means to take responsibility rather than blaming others. You may have been doing things routinely without valuing yourself. But confidence is building as you take on better work or health habits and start to toot your own horn. Remember the saying, “the squeaky wheel gets the oil.”

The lunar eclipse occurs in your 11th house of friends and associates. Your ideas, concepts, and beliefs about yourself are being refined, perhaps as a result of a relationship with a trusted teacher. Aquarius:

The lunar eclipse happens in your 9th house of beliefs, higher courts, and higher learning. You might be settling the score now and justice may be served. You may have had a hard time getting others to see your perspective. This situation may have arisen partly because your psyche has been going through its own transformation, thus changing your perspective. If part of this is a legal ruling, you will be able to work through the details and settle business/contractual details in a better and fairer light.

Pisces:

The lunar eclipse is happening in your 8th house of shared resources. Wealth is on your mind and at the eclipse you may be rearranging your taxes or your shared resources. Your earnings may be coming from a very different source these days, perhaps from a business that you recently launched. Maybe you didn’t expect to do so well. Incorporation, changing your relationship to business and becoming an employee of your own company, may all be in the mix as you assess your situation.

March Horoscope 2015

March Horoscope 2015

2015-02-27 18.20.04Our thoughts are so important in creating our lives and our worlds. Mixed with emotion, our thoughts become particularly powerful. This month, thoughts will be very creative and emotions will be high. This means we’ll have an unusual ability to create whatever is in our hearts and minds – for ill or for good.

On the 2nd of March, Mercury sextile Uranus will generate unusual and potentially cutting edge thoughts and opinions. Mercury will also oppose Jupiter which will expand those thoughts. But it also will make us all a little opinionated and overconfident. This change may be a time when we can really listen to people and to see what they are made of. Venus will oppose the North Node, so if we don’t like what we are hearing or if we realize that it doesn’t Jive with our values, we can make healthy decisions to let them go with love.

By March 3rd, Jupiter will trine Uranus. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your perspective) it’s a bit of a roller coaster ride and by this point there is no getting off. We are now at the top, ready to plunge at a crazy speed. From that point to the end of the month, our bottoms barely touch the seat even though we are strapped in. Our lungs may not register when to take a breath. We’ll either be screaming with delight or sheer terror! Even though Jupiter is retrograde, it will still expand the energy of Uranus. We’ll feel it on the inside. Uranus is the planet of surprises. It’s also the planet of humanitarianism, change, forward thinking, and innovation. It’s in Aries which is associated with pioneering a new direction, living courageously, and defining ourselves. It’s a little like the first Tarot Card, the Fool, who often leaps before thinking. But that’s not all….

On March 4th, Venus will also join the party. We value our freedoms at this time but perhaps someone else would like to control them – so there will be a little bit of a clash starting out the month of March.

The full moon on March 5th will be in Virgo. This is a powerful full moon with a great deal of unconscious material floating to the surface for examination. Virgo will help us to sift through the information and make sense of it. It’s a detailed moon with transformative power as it will also be connected to Pluto. Those ready to step into their power will do so at this time. It’s a culmination of much inner work and we may see many finally stepping into the leadership to which they were called. They will embrace their role to transform our world in positive ways. Mars is opposite the North Node on the 6th which helps us to move in a new direction. By the weekend, the Sun conjuncts Chiron (the wounded healer) and we will feel a strong spiritual direction emerge.

8377186_sOn March 10th, Mars will trine Jupiter and this change will feel like going up the second hill of that same roller coaster ride. The next day, Mars conjuncts Uranus and we are plunging again, this time with a bit of a twist or turn. Mars squares Pluto in Capricorn. Those in power might pull a move and you may find yourself suspended in midair. Are they really checking for safety or is this just a move to try and prove who’s in control?

Mercury will move into Pisces on March 12th giving our language and communication an idealist tone. But by the 16th, Mercury will square Saturn which may be the reason for the narrow-thinking and pessimism that seems to emerge. This energy also won’t help with the other major astrological event for that day created when Pluto and Uranus square. This is the last square Pluto and Uranus will have for many years to come, but with all the Mars and Jupiter action of the last couple of days, this one does come with a bit of a bang. I feel like telling everyone to hold a heart shaped crystal or some rose quartz. As much as you can, block out the negative thinking and increase the love.  Reflect back on the last six squares between Pluto and Uranus. You can also read the horoscopes for those dates to get an idea of the energy; how it’s been playing out in your life and on the world stage. I only started writing about the monthly energy in 2013, but you can get the picture from the one’s I wrote; June 24, 2012, Sept 18, 2012, May 20, 2013, Nov 1, 2013, April 21, 2014, Dec 14, 2014.

By the 18th, Mercury will conjunct Neptune, which will help us to tap into our intuitions and our ability to vision. If we can hold onto this energy for a couple of days, we’ll have a New Moon Solar eclipse in Pisces on March 20th.

The solar eclipse is at 29o Pisces which makes it a very spiritual, compassionate, self-sacrificing New Moon. It makes a favourable connection with Saturn, grounding its energy. On the 14th, Saturn turned retrograde. It’s in Sagittarius now but it will head back and dip into Scorpio toward the summer. Before it gets there, we’ll have the chance to reflect on some of the early lessons in Sagittarius. Sagittarius rules religion and higher learning. This solar eclipse energy makes an aspect to it so we can set intentions – then we’ll really understand the direction in which we should head. The eclipse is a happy positive eclipse according to *Bernadette Brady. Creative projects and romantic relationships can have sudden success and positive creativity. This result can occur on both the group and the individual level. If an eclipse is connected to a planet in your chart, you will have an opportunity to really embrace this energy and help evolve the planet forward.

On March 22nd, Mercury will connect with Pluto, sending us into deep penetrating topics. By the 24th when it conjuncts Chiron, we will have a chance to have deeper discussions that can potentially heal hurt feelings. Venus sextile Neptune on the same day promises a way to deepen and spiritualize the love, thus feeding your soul.

By March 25th, we are back to business when the Sun trines Saturn. Stay the course as we move toward the lunar eclipse at the beginning of April. We start to get a little more intense again. Venus trine Pluto on the 30th makes us a feel our emotions a little more intensely – by the last day of March, we may be realizing some truths. With Mars moving into Taurus on the same day, our persistence and desires may be strengthened.

Read the Horoscope for each sign:

Aries:

Big changes have been occurring in who you are and who you are presenting in the work place. This change has also been transforming your career. This month you will be the pinnacle point of all of that activity. The eclipse will be in your 12th house, helping you to unlock buried sources of love from within.

Taurus:

You may sense a course correction this month as unconscious material floats to the surface. Actually it might pop to the surface, surprising you. You are expanding into your spiritual gifts and shifting your beliefs. You are also tapping into your childhood passions again. At the eclipse, you can share your ideas with the world in a political forum or in connection with your growing tribe.

Gemini:

The bottom is finally falling out from whatever has been moving and shifting in your finances. Everyone seems to be coming out of the woodwork, friends, past acquaintances – or this might even be a political favour that leaves you feeling pushed and pulled. The good news is that shifts in your marriage or partnership may lead you in a new direction. It might be a proposal or it might just be finally aligning with the right mate on a deeper level.

Cancer:

Where is your relationship heading? This month might take you to the edge. Taking things to the edge is often required in order to evolve our relationships further. We don’t really hold or own others. This month your ability to flow with changes without attachment will be tested. The eclipse on the 20th will help you to tap into profound and spiritual truths about love.

Leo:

Your leadership is being called on to transform your work and the beliefs we have about work. You’re leading the way on this but first your own beliefs must be examined and transformed. This month will push that development forward. You can expect the eclipse to help you readjust your leadership style. If your ego has been getting in the way, this adjustment might feel uncomfortable. Take time to examine your roles. Re-read ‘The Power of Now.’

Virgo:

The lucky thing is that Jupiter will be sitting on your shoulder like a protective angel this month, so don’t be frightened if you seem to be turned inside out. The creative process is easy; think of a baby being born. It brings a beautiful gift, but the process is one that leaves a mark. Spend time asking women about their birth stories and you’ll resonate with their energy this month. The eclipse this month has the potential to connect you with your soul mate. If you’re already connected, this will take it deeper.

Libra:

You might feel a little uprooted this month. Let’s say you find out that your partner had a relationship before you were together that produced a love child (I think this happened to Gwen Stephanie). It’s this kind of left field information that floats the surface and completely changes your foundations. The eclipse will put you in touch with service and love for humanity. It might feel exhausting and you might want to hold back, but this change is likely the best thing for you right now.

Scorpio:

You might feel like you have a left foot at work this month. If your boss is coming down on you, know that it’s just a sign saying something is misaligned in your self presentation. They can’t figure you out, so they would prefer if you just conform. How you give your gifts is really being transformed and it’s just a matter of getting clear feedback. You may have foot in mouth syndrome (which might be commonplace) but reflecting back on what floats out of your mouth will help you adjust your new and emerging perspective. The solar eclipse will be expressed in an inspired love for your children – or creativity if you don’t have children.

Sagittarius:

Projects can really take off this month. All that is required is a little more belief in yourself. You’re able to win the support of your constituent, whomever and for whatever purpose they are in your life. It might be a political group or it might be a tribe that you are creating for a creative endeavour. The eclipse will help you tap into the spiritual linage or heritage that you may have been ignoring. They are your gifts. Use them.

Capricorn:

There may be some disruption in your home this month. One of your children might move back in or you might be asked to take care of your grandchildren, leaving your house and home completely turned upside down. It’s another chance for you to define/redefine who you are becoming. Your old communication style might re-emerge mid month, but it’s an opportunity to adjust your thinking and your communication style for a better, more effective approach. If things are getting lost in translation, maybe there’s a better approach. The eclipse will help you access a more loving communication style.

Aquarius:

You have some innovative ideas on communications. There will be lots of unconscious material floating to the surface for you to access. Maybe it’s from your unconscious, but it might also be inspired by the universe. You’re having a Tesla moment this month. The more you partner and share your ideas, the more access you will have to the inspiration. True, Tesla was not recognized during his lifetime for his creations. Yes, maybe they were stolen, but don’t worry whose idea it was or let the idea of whose creation it was stop you from allowing the creation to emerge. The eclipse will help you to access deeper levels of self love and selflessness.

Pisces:

Hitting the jackpot in terms of your earnings will throw you a little off kilter. This jackpot will be the result of hard work (not a lottery winning), so you should be able to access your worthiness a little more quickly. You will become the epitome of the new spiritual movement that is emerging with respect to work. Leader is being transformed to Mastermind as you spread the word about the power of working together. Work teams are being transformed into work tribes. The eclipse will help you tap into the universe of love within yourself.

The History of The Corporation & Astrology

The History of The Corporation & Astrology

The Corporation was a Roman concept and some of the oldest corporations are still in existence, but it was the first mercantile corporation that really set the tone for business. The East Indian Company was a monster corporation. And with one other real competitor – the Dutch East Indian Company – and its products of tea, opium, and, of course, people through the slave trade, it took over the world.

Okay, so their business was a bit sketchy. But what is so fascinating about the British East Indian Company is what happened to it when Pluto went into Capricorn in 1762.

I’m not a big history buff, but I have recently been doing a bit of research for my book The Corporate Culture Detox. I thought, ‘if I am going to be talking about the Corporation, I should talk a bit about where they originated , how they have evolved, and their growth. This research led me to a blog post called A Brief History of the Corporation. As I read the post, a chill went up and down my spine.

It was the story of the British East Indian Company; a story of greed, power, sketchy business practices, an economic bubble, and eventual revolution (American Revolution to be specific) which started because of Tea. As the story unfolded, a theme way too familiar seemed to be emerging! It happened in 1772 and it was happening again. Because of this, I had a sneaking suspicion that the culprit was Pluto in Capricorn.

Pluto has an orbit of 248 years so the timing seemed about right, but I had to check it out. I did two things: I went to my astrology software and pulled up a chart for December 31, 1600 – the day the East Indian Company was incorporated. Then, before setting off to write a blog post about it, I did another quick Google search. That search produced a blog post written in 2004 by Shane P Ward. Damn! Another Astrologer had beaten me to the punch!

If you love that feeling of getting goose bumps as you read something eerily correct, check out his post!

So rather than rehash the story that was already told, I thought I would post the British East Indian Company Incorporation Chart to show you how powerful looking at an incorporation chart can be and then tell you my astrological take on where the corporation is growing.

EIC - Pluto TransitThe East Indian Company, established in December, had a Capricorn Sun. In addition it had North Node, Mercury, and Mars in Capricorn. Pluto crossed the chart’s Sun in 1767. The Sun of a corporation is how the company is perceived and the image of the company. Capricorn then crossed over its North Node, landed exactly on its Capricorn Mars, and was about to square its Pluto when the company went to the Bank of England on July 15, 1772 for help. By 1773, a full bailout occurred from the Bank of England. In response, the British (needing to repair the financial damage) decided to pass a Tea Act which basically exempted the British East Indian Company from taxes. Well, they needed a way to make back the bail out money! But this act negatively impacted the colonies, including America.

The United States reaction to that Tax Act was the Boston Tea Party in 1773. A revolt ensued and the formation of independent America occurred on July 4, 1778 – which incidentally gives the US chart a Sun in Cancer, the exact opposite sign to Capricorn.

Astrology 101: A conjunction to Capricorn planets will be an opposition to Cancer planets AND just as transformative!

And that’s where we are today. Pluto in Capricorn making transits opposite the US chart’s Sun, having already hit its Cancer Venus, Jupiter, and, just this past year, its Sun. It will oppose its Cancer Mercury and conjunct its Pluto by the end of the Pluto in Capricorn transit in 2023.

Okay, so yes America is not technically a Corporation – but neither was Britain, though it was highly influenced by the British East Indian Company – and I think we all know how influential some companies are to the United States.

This point leads me to Pluto, currently in transiting in Capricorn, which started in 2008 (236 years later). Some things are similar: government bail outs, increased taxes, and resultant backlash (even calling themselves the Tea Party movement) and a “great idea” to help repair the damage… fracking oil.

This time tea is not being thrown overboard – this time (metaphorically at least) it’s Oil but let’s hope it doesn’t end up in our water! Since 2008, fracking has made the US a major producer for oil. If tea taxes undercut the Americans, resulting in the American Revolution, the question is who does America’s reorientation in oil production undercut? While many might worry about the Tea Party movement and backlash to taxes. Some will worry about backlash to oil prices globally but just remember that it was the American farmer who threw off Britain! And it’s this small point that gives me hope…

Here’s why.

The Cosmos is not completely the same as in the late 1700’s.The difference is that Neptune was in Virgo back then and this time, for the most part, it is in Pisces – its home. Neptune in Pisces has historically seen revolutions with the masses generally feeling the pinch of the haves and the have not’s. Some of the current “Rich” (1%) get this (see plutocrat ted talk The Pitch Forks Are Coming).

But what I think is more interesting is that Neptune only arrived in Pisces in 2012 but has brought the rise of a new kind of faith, utopia, and ideology brought about by a new invention that blew up when Neptune was Conjunct Uranus in 1993 – the internet. Innovation on the internet has created connections, apps, and speed that are now making what was once inaccessible to the regular person accessible. This is the kind of revolution that has the potential to do amazing things.

As an individual I can now brand and incorporate myself. I can offer my attention, skills, and abilities to what I love and enjoy. I can create my own company. I can limit my liability and when I really get rolling, I can build a team of others virtually who are also on the same page to help my business grow – I can do it all because of innovation and the internet. Not only that, but I can slow down as not as much of my personal time is needed. If something needs to be done you can be sure that “there’s an app for that.” I can move out of town, to cheaper suburban land – as long as there is an internet connection. If I have a product-based business, I may also need a post office. As for those product-based companies, I don’t have to buy from the large super companies. I can buy from Etsy or someone in my tribe and my tribe can be connect me with like-minded individuals all over the world. Don’t believe me? There are books being written about it – Read Think Like a SheEO. and courses popping up to get you there quickly – Check out Marie Forleo’s B School.

As for oil, I can go back to basics with a garden and a windmill or solar panel, thus growing my own tea and producing my own energy. I can stick my tongue out to the large corporation – particularly the ones that are driven by oil and profit and ruining the environment. I can declare that I am a corporation! Think that it’s idealistic? Well, that’s how idealistic Neptune in Pisces can be. When it comes to business, never underestimate the idealism of Pisces! Some of the most successful entrepreneurs are Pisces (Steve Jobs, Wyatt Earp, Levi Strauss, Daymon John). They are successful because they’re idealistic and they BELIEVE their idealism!

Perhaps it is the rise of the entrepreneur – the small guy who will challenge the powers that be this time! If that is the case then what does that mean for the large corporation? It means it needs to rethink its way of doing business… And for that a good start is to read The Year Without Pants.
