Full Moon in Leo – January 25, 2024

Full moon in Leo

The full moon in Leo is on January 25. Leo is about creativity, fun, children, our inner child and self-expression.

The Moon is opposite the Sun, which is still conjunct pluto. We see glimpses of the transformation that is yet to come. A.I., our rights and freedoms, our role in the collective, and our relationship with energy including the energy of spirit are all set to transform. We may feel intimidated, or even frightened by the changes that we see on the horizon. We are bringing something to culmination so that we can step into that transformative future. At this full moon we need to accept that a part of our self expression needs to die. This is not a bad thing. One door needs to shut before we can enter the next. Draw ceremony to give honour to this aspect of ourselves.

The moon is square Jupiter in Taurus, so we are needing to be careful that we do not overextend ourselves or go over the top. This includes tempering our emotions and celebrations. It won’t be the worst if you do. You just might face an embarrassing moment or an emotional hangover.

The full moon is conjunct to asteroids, Memoria and Cyllarus

Cyllarus seems to signify pride in oneself; your identity or background, which can be good or bad, depending on how express it. For instance, if you think that you are better than others because of your upbringing or pedigree, you will come across as boastful, and egotistical and that is not positive, however, if you have pride in who you are in terms of your person development or even performance, that can be the meeting ground for celebration and community.

With Memoria, related to memories, also with the moon, We are looking back and remembering where we were, and how far we’ve come. We might spend time looking at old pictures, or re-reading things we have written, or reviewing project we started long ago. Our first blog post or those the pre workout journey photos. Take pride in how far you have come. Take pride, yet be humble. We have reached maturity or mastery and for that we can be proud.

The Sabian symbol for this new moon is an old fashion woman and an up-to-date girl. There is a part of us that is appreciating what has stood the test of time, what has brought us wisdom and experience, but we are also ready for fresh new energy.

Happy Full Moon in Leo!

Cancer Full Moon – December 26, 2023

It’s a full moon at 4 degrees of Cancer. Cancer is all about family, heritage, mother, tribe, country and nation. It’s ruled by the moon and so puts us in touch with our emotions and intuition. At the full moon these things are coming to a culmination. Many of us will be spending time with family over the holidays and this is the perfect setting for bringing out all things cancer.

The moon is sextile Jupiter and trine to Saturn. The sextile to Jupiter will bring out happy and joyous emotions. We feel like celebrating and spending time with friends and family. This is a good time for spending time with any group you feel attached to. With the moon sextile Jupiter, there may be temptations to over eating or overindulgence however, the moon is also trine to Saturn which gives us a certain amount of control over our emotions. We’re more realistic and don’t mind having some restraints or setbacks. For instance, we may have wanted to spend lots of money on our family, but because of inflation or other financial impacts, we feel very happy and satisfied with small gifts and small token of appreciation…. And so the restriction brings out a feeling of appreciation. We can also feel nostalgic for past traditions or a simpler time.

The sun is in Capricorn and it’s conjunct Ixion. Ixion has a bad reputation. He is the god who promised to pay for his bride and then didn’t. He’s the steal you girl or guy type. She’s the one who will try to get away with murder. You’ve likely given them lots of chances before and they usually mess it up! It’s likely we will have in our midst at least one of these types who we don’t and shouldn’t trust.

The ruler of the Sun is Saturn. And the trine from Saturn to the moon helps us to have boundaries and to trust our gut with respect to anyone who is in our midst that we cannot and do not trust. This will protect us from any ill will sent in our direction. Since this is a full moon will be able to bring a conclusion to aspects of this negative relationship. We may finally learn how to be loving, but not trusting. The saying fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on, you comes to mind.

Regardless of the fact that this person or energy is in our midst we still feel good and enjoy our full moon!!

Cancer Full Moon

Scorpio New Moon – November 13, 2023

The new moon is at 20° of Scorpio. It is conjunct, Mars, and asteroids Hopi and Child.

Hopi elder sharing peace pipe ashes

It is also opposite Uranus and the asteroid Lampo.

New moons are about new beginnings. They are a great time to set intentions for what we want to bring into manifestation.

This is a good time to consider making intentions around things shared, therapy, looking deep into our issues around control, trust and power. Scorpio is also about sex, death and transformation. It’s connected to magic, the occult, organized crime, secret societies, or secrets of any kind. Scorpio can be destructive in it’s lower form and transformative in it’s higher form! Fundamentally Scorpio is about creation, destruction and/or transformation.

The new moon is a conjunct asteroid Hopi. The the Hopi are a very important native American tribe whose prophecies revolve around the end times… that point to the path of making it through the transformation of the Earth… or not. Hopi prophecies say that we have repeated history many times. Always in these repetitions there is a decision point where society can choose between greed, worship of technology and fighting each other or coming together in love and creativity and peace. The prophecies say that one path leads to the destruction of our world and the other to avoiding disaster!

But how can we come together in peace and love and creativity? It all depends on the child, or more specifically, the inner child! The new moon is also conjunct astroid child brings up issues around our childhood, our inner child, or relationships with our children. How have we dealt with our childhood hurts? When triggered do we turn into a terrible two year old or a petulant teenager? Have we grown spiritually and have we nurtured and healed from our childhood hurts?

Hurt people hurt people…. and more easily, hurt people, hurt children and create a lineage and cycle of hurt. Ultimately these hurts play out in our relationships with others, our work relationships and ripple out to society. Worse if we have power! The impact of our acting out can be huge!

The Scorpio new moon is ruled by Mars, and Mars is conjunct this new moon. Added to it is an opposition to Uranus, making this new moon somewhat volatile. But it also gives us accesses to earth shattering breakthroughs. Instead of allowing volatility to take over we can approach it like a controles demolition! We can use the volatility to breakthrough issues that stop us from finding peace within and without. This is therefore an amazing time for therapy, meditation, astrology readings etc. anything that can help us to reach within and heal.

Opposite the new moon is with Uranus is Lempo. Lampo is the Finnish god of love and fertility. Apparently Lempo was turned into a demon through Christianization and a villain in the medieval finished folktales.

Lempo is a mild swearword in Finnish!

Lempo astrologically seems to indicate malevolent distortion, demonization and possibly religious bigotry.

But let’s go back to the heart of Lempo! Lampo reminds us of all of the inversions that have taken place in our understanding of our world, and allows us to reach into the truth of who we really are! If Lampo is truly about fertility and love, then it’s like the word F@ck! The sacredness of love and fertility (sex) has been turned into something profane… we can use this new moon breakthrough energy to return to the truth… maybe we even do a fuck meditation to channel the energy, reach the truth and ultimately heal and grow our inner child!

The Sabian symbol for the new moon is “obeying his conscience, a soldier, resist orders”. This suggests that following our own path at this time may go against society or the majority. However, it is in going against society that we sometimes help society out, taking it to that higher Hopi path!

Happy scorpio new moon!
