Is your business Idea “Fools Gold”? Astrology tips for money making success.

GoldNever a dull moment in my family, I had been trying to get hold of my Dad for a couple of days. Finally I got a text. “Sorry, I was in Guyana panning for gold”.

Panning for Gold!?

Most Dads go fishing or hunting and yes my Dad has done those things too. But I have to admire my Dad; a successful business man, enterprising and daring, if there is a chance to make money and be adventurous, he is all over it. So with Guyana experiencing a Gold Rush, my Dad and his friend decided to go check it out.

The fact that there is a gold rush happening does not surprise me. Neptune is currently transiting in Pisces. The last time Neptune was in Pisces was in 1848 when the “Gold Rush” in California occurred. The gold rush promised a chance at making money. There was low barrier to entry. Just find a river and start panning. This was the “California Dream”, and everyone believed that money could be earned quickly. The promise was new beginnings and fast wealth!

The gold rush didn’t just happen in California, it happened all over the world and at different periods beyond the Neptune in Pisces transit, but what really stood out about the California gold rush was just how many people went in search of riches (300,000 plus) from North America and around the world. Not only that, the idealism of the ‘California Dream’ rush kept on even after the rush was over! Yes, there were some who profited from panning gold, but most returned home with little more than what they came with – most only found ‘fool’s gold’ and many of the successful ones, were not successful from prospecting gold. In fact, the big profit winner’s were the suppliers – those who sold the pans and shovels or the entertainment.

This brings me to 2014 and the current gold rush. Yes there is a gold rush in Guyana, and Neptune is in Pisces and will be until 2026. Neptune went into Pisces in 2011, retrograded and entered again in 2012 – about the time when the gold rush in Guyana really heated up. Neptune rules mining. It also rules all that it nebulous, vague, and hard to pin down. It is always in the mix when there is deception or when we find ourselves in a fog. It’s certainly in the mix when our idealism peaks!

So, you may ask, did my Dad score any gold? Well I heard lots of stuff about government permit requirements and other precious stones, but I didn’t hear that they had struck it rich! Not from Gold. But my dad is a very smart business guy, so if he wanted to make money from this, he would have sat back and figured out where the real money was. He would likely be the one supplying the shovels as unglamorous as that sounds. I have no doubt that he would have been the one making the money. How do I know? Because I have seen him build up several successful enterprises over my life and I also see it in his Natal chart!

There is another “gold rush” that is happening right now. Well it’s not exactly Gold.. ..But it is ruled by Neptune…. it’s the Internet entrepreneur. Much like the gold miners during the gold rush of the 1840’s, becoming an internet entrepreneur these days is easy. Barrier to entry is low. Anyone can set up an internet site. Plugins to make your site do anything, commerce, graphics and low cost support are for the taking. There is low over overhead the potential to make lots of money. Its new beginnings and the potential for fast wealth exists… And you guessed it, the internet with it’s hard to see, hard to explain, “Just where does the internet live”? Quality is ruled by Pisces.

So the question is will you be successful? Well there are a couple of things to consider before you quit your job to pan for gold or to start your internet business.

#1 Where is the money? Is the money really in prospecting gold or the internet business? Yes, there will be those who make money from panning for gold or from an internet business teaching the ropes on how to make a successful internet business. But I believe making money is about finding what you are good at, passionate about and have a sense of purpose about. Yes some will find their purpose in mining and other in running a business, but not everyone. In astrology, look to the second house planets and second house ruler to give hints on what you will make money from. For example if you have mercury in the second house or ruling the second house, perhaps you make money from writing or speaking.

#2 Do you have what it takes to be a prospector or an entrepreneur? Mary struck it rich and she had it in her natal chart read here! I would put Mary’s chart here, but she doesn’t reveal her last name or her chart. But you can be sure that if you are to find treasure it will show up in your chart. The Sabian symbol for 6 degree’s Scorpio is to be lured by gold. At this degree is “A keen intellect, mainly reserved for work and material gain, deep emotions reserved for family and inner needs. Adventurous but makes wise use of resources. In business, a competitive opportunist” So maybe Mary had a planet at that degree? As for the successful entrepreneur; successful entrepreneurs can come from any sign, but those who are really successful often have planets in Aries which is enterprising, Scorpio which is shrewd or Capricorn which is ambitious. They most certainly have planets in money houses (the 2nd house and the 8th house) or planets in the 10th house of career and fame.

#3 It the timing right? Timing is everything! Those who were in on the action early in the gold rush where the ones to make the money. Are you late to the market? Is the market saturated? If it’s saturated, what is the next big thing? We can look at Jupiter, which expands everything it touches and whom transits through a sign every 12 months or so for tips on this. Jupiter is currently in Cancer, so the big markets right now are related to home and food. Jupiter will move into Leo in July and stay there for a year, so if you’re thinking ahead of the curve, you have likely put together a business plan for the arts or entertainment. Oh and by the way, Leo also rules gold! Two years from now Jupiter will be in Virgo. Maybe the markets to plan for at that time are drugs or healthcare.

Are there any markets or businesses that you are seeing lately that look like “fools gold” to you? Which look like they might be emerging? Leave a comment in the comment section and let me know what you think.

Jupiter Retrograde in Cancer; Business and Personal advice

13496710_sJupiter will be retrograde from Nov 7, 2013 – March 6, 2014

Jupiter turns retrograde today, November 7, and is currently in Cancer. Jupiter retrograde is a slowdown period and a time of inward looking. So this is a good time to reflect on all things Cancerian – your foundations, home or real estate, children, your parents and  anything related to food.  Jupiter is normally expansive, and during a retrograde, it’s not that it’s restrictive, it just turns its expansion inward.

Jupiter retrograde is not a good time to launch  a new product or start a new business. It’s a time when people are spending less. Launching a business during Jupiter retrograde will be imprinted in the birth chart of the product or business; and guarded spending on your product or business may continue past the retrograde period. If you are not good at sales or you don’t have a partner or salesforce that are topnotch, take the time instead to pick up projects that you have dropped and complete them.  This is a good time to assess the foundations of your organization or team –  a great time for team-building. In fact, it would be a great time for executive coaching for the CEO, President or owner of a company who is represented by Jupiter in a business chart.

In general, it’s a great time to do an astrology reading, to seek out guidance from counsellors, spiritual guides, psychologists, coaches, tarot readers, etc., all of whom can give us helpful information to aid our inward reflection.

During Jupiter retrograde in Cancer, real estate may slow down and home-building or renovations may take more time. However, it might be a good time to buy as you may get good deals – as long as you take the time to do proper research. Jupiter retrograde will slow you down enough to do so,  anyhow.

Take time to cook from scratch. This will act almost like a meditation process.  Have long meals with the family. In fact, have meals with anyone you want to bond and reflect deeply with.  I once worked for a company that, because of space issues, did not have a lunch room at one of their locations. All other locations had solid bonded teams because they took the time to eat lunch together. The location without a lunch room struggled with coldness and lacked a sense of team. Managers ate at in their offices and staff went in the four directions at lunch.  The point: eating together is so important at the best of times, but if you can carve out the space during this retrograde-in-Cancer period, you will greatly benefit.

Jupiter will oppose Pluto January 31 and square Uranus February 26;  so during the retrograde period if you have planets or points at 10 – 12 degrees, you will feel deep reflection, transformation and revolution all at once in that area of your life. Expansion will happen after March 6, when Jupiter goes direct again, going over those points again.

Aries – Jupiter is retrograde in your 4th house. Deep reflection will happen around family and home.

Taurus – Jupiter is retrograde in your 3rd house. Spend time reflecting on your communication with family and with respect to your home.

Gemini – Jupiter is retrograde in your 2nd house. Spend time reflecting on how you’re spending money or using your resources as they pertain to family and your home.

Cancer – Jupiter is retrograde in your 1st house. Spend time reflecting on how you’re presenting yourself and your style.

Leo – Jupiter is retrograde in your 12th house. A great time to reflect on all those unconscious issues with childhood and family.

Virgo – Jupiter is retrograde in your 11th house. A great time to reflect on how you can have a deeper impact on the world.

Libra – Jupiter is retrograde in your 10th house. A great time to reflect on your parenting, management or leadership style.

Scorpio – Jupiter is retrograde in your 9th house. A great time for a pilgrimage or spiritual travel, maybe to the place of your roots.

Sagittarius – Jupiter is retrograde in your 8th house.  A great time for reflecting on details of an inheritance, bringing together resources to form a family or dissolving them, as in a divorce.

Capricorn – Jupiter is retrograde in your 7th house. A great time to reflect on your personal relationship or family business.

Aquarius – Jupiter is retrograde in your 6th house.  Reflect on your service to others or work habits. Consider also work-life balance.

Pisces – Jupiter is retrograde in your 5th house. Reflect on building or nurturing your family and children. Family planning may come into the picture.

Juno Moneta A$trology

Business Lady MoneyOne of the epithets that describe Juno is Moneta. This is because she was the protectress of funds in Roman times. She stood guard over the mint where coins were made. She is associated with the goddess Mnemosyne (memory) and is, therefore, also associated with keeping records, or accounts.

In truth, many women are in charge of the finances at home are in roles and careers where they make more money than ever in history and are on a larger scale than ever running their own businesses. We have evolved from being property to owning property. Click here for a brief history of Marriage.

Juno Moneta A$trology is about empowering women economically. We want to give you that extra edge financially. Let’s face it; we tend to be uncomfortable with investing, budgeting and making big financial decisions… And when it comes to decisions, many women move beyond just a logical decision to making decisions from their heart and their intuition… so a little astrological advice can be helpful. In fact, astrology is one of the best kept secrets of stockbrokers and financial investors. This is because the markets respond to movements of the planets, especially the moon and the Sun.  Not only do stock markets respond to astrology, so do all facets of business activity.

So what are the important things to consider when making a business deal, accepting a job offer, buying a car or real estate and business activity in general?

Here are some business astrology basics.

MOON VOID OF COURSE

When things are done during the moon void of course a couple of things will happen… or better put, not happen. The moon void of course means that the moon is not engaged and for business deals to turn out, they must be done when the moon is engaged. This means that the moon is making an applying aspect to one of these planets: Venus, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, or Jupiter. The moon is the first action of the event chart and if it’s sleepy, the action taken during that time will also be sleepy. Therefore, actions taken during the moon void of course will not get off the ground, nothing will happen or they will just plain fail.

Now, the moon void of course is not a time when we throw our hands up and say “I can’t do anything, the moon is void of course.” You may want to start things that you know you would like to go nowhere. For instance, I met with my lawyer for the first time on a legal issue that I knew I didn’t want to go to court. When negotiating, I made sure to squeeze the opposing side into a void of course time frame; I knew their threats would go nowhere.

The proof is in the pudding, so try it out. Check back on a deal you made that didn’t work out to see if you initiated it when the moon was void of course.

Okay, so how do we use the moon? The moon phases can be used effectively just by moving in line with the flow of the moon cycles. Initiating new activities should be done at or just after the new moon. It’s a great time to set goals and create visions and plans. When the moon is in its first quarter it’s time to get in there and get things done. Now you should be in motion with your plans from the new moon. Things culminate at the full moon. This is when you see the fruits of your efforts. After the full moon at the last quarter, things will be in decline. It’s wrap-up time. Many things need more than 28 days to come to fruition, but even those things will have better results if they are in flow with the moon cycles.

MERCURY RX (RETROGRADE)

Mercury retrograde is a little more familiar to most. It happens about three times a year for about three weeks. Mercury rules communication, vehicles, travel and commerce; and during those three weeks those things can mess up. Think about it. Communication is a biggie. If you are signing a deal you want to make sure that you understand one another, or that you’re not missing some important detail. Therefore, Mercury retrograde is a great time to research, review and recycle. Signing deals, initiating travel and buying vehicles are all bad ideas during this time because you will find later on that something was missed or that you got a lemon.

VENUS RX (RETROGRADE)

Venus retrograde is like going to the dollar store thinking you’re going to get a deal and then spending a whole lot of money on useless stuff or stuff that is tacky and breaks easily. Venus rules beauty, love and aesthetics, but it also rules money; so anything initiated during Venus retrograde can end up being costly in the end. If purchasing large investment items, they will be difficult to sell. If you have inventory for your business you may accidentally overstock and have a hard time moving items. If you’re in media or in the public eye, don’t do anything to your appearance as it will not turn out the way you expect it. Things to avoid include cutting your hair, cosmetic surgery and so on. Okay, Venus is retrograde for 40 days, which is a long time to not get your eyebrows done. If you need to, do it, but don’t try anything new. I did that before and ended up with wax being yanked out of my hair (not my eyebrow hair).

MARS RX RETROGRADE

Mars rules action and defense, so anything started during Mars retrograde (which is long, 80 days), will be long and drawn out. Whoever initiates during Mars retrograde will lose, so it’s not a great time to start legal action against someone you’re hoping to win against. This doesn’t mean that you let others walk all over you. Instead, you might try mediation during this time or wait until Mars is direct. It’s a time to strategize and make plans rather than acting.

JUPITER RX (RETROGRADE)

Jupiter is expansion; it’s the optimism of any business or transaction. When it’s retrograde, this can limit the expansion of an enterprise. So if you start a business during Jupiter retrograde, the company might have a hard time attracting clients or growing at an expected rate. Jupiter in a company chart often represents the leadership and when retrograde it can show up as someone who is shy or not aggressive in terms of sales and marketing.

SATURN

Saturn gets a bad rap. That’s because it’s associated with responsibility and in a natal chart, with the lessons that one has to learn. It can be constriction and restriction. In a business chart, and also in a marriage or relationship chart, Saturn is a must! It provides the glue to keep you going when things get tough; it keeps business transactions grounded; it makes sure growth is happening at a reasonable rate. Saturn connections and a Saturn retrograde in a business or business transaction event chart is, therefore, something that you would like to see.
