I Bought A Campervan in England

I bought a campervan.

The goal is to travel around England, Scotland, Ireland and Spain. And maybe France.

I want to visit sacred sites, energy lines. I want to investigate how these lines were connected to the stars and astrology, and I want to use the cosmic and energetic lines to create deep growth. In ancient times, people made pilgrimages, not in campervans, but on foot and sometimes, if they couldn’t walk, on horseback. While I will be driving to destinations, I do plan to do lots of walking, and I’ve brought my walking sticks and hiking shoes for the challenge. Walking is an essential part of pilgrimage and growth, and I’ve got a post about that topic soon!

Travel is a powerful way to transform

Visiting new places gives us different perspectives and challenges how we see the world. I was recently a guest on the Sacred Travel podcast, where I talked a little more about this 9th house/Sagittarius experience. The host of the Sacred Travel podcast also asked me to create an astrological guide for her upcoming group experience in Egypt. She still has room, so check out the podcast and her offering. From my perspective, it’s cosmologically, astrologically and magically aligned. If you feel connected to the Galactic Centre, the Milky Way or the Golden Gate of Egyptian cosmology, then you’ll be really interested in the astrology and the offering.

Back to my 9th house/Sagittarius experience… I bought a campervan and, of course, in my head, it was perfect, glorious and smooth sailing. Well, sometimes when we go on these travels, it’s challenging. And if embraced, the challenges bring tremendous growth. Along with the regular challenges of buying a vehicle in a country that is not yours, insurance, registration, and paying taxes, the experience brought in my own consciousness. I noted the time of my purchase and immediately drew up a birth chart/astrology chart for my new/used campervan to see what I drew in! Ultimately, anything we buy, especially large purchases like vehicles or homes, will incorporate our consciousness. This is also true for relationships we enter and jobs we take on. What can show up in those new endeavours are the areas within ourselves that need work.

This campervan is not just about my own internal story, but also one about the mission that I am on for the world. My campervan astrology tells a story about the moment that we are in and some of the lessons that we need to heed or incorporate as we move through tricky territory….

Strangely, the astrology of my campervan is all about the Mother!

So here’s the astrology of the campervan:

The moon is in Capricorn. The moon in Capricorn is concerned with achievement and hard work. In a natal chart, it is often seen in people who have difficulty connecting with their mother and who can feel distant or removed. However, there is another side to Capricorn. Capricorn is connected with grandmothers. Grandmother energy is different from mother energy. When it is wise and grounded, it can provide a deeply safe, gentle and warm container. Interestingly, mother energy came up strongly and prominently in my recent trip to Italy. Read about that here. I spoke about the energies of Aesculapius at Tiber Island, of Ceres, which was the astrological locational line running through Italy and the energy of Demeter at the Tempio di Demetra just outside of Rome. Well, Aesculapius, Ceres/Demeter are all prominent in my campervan chart!

The asteroid Aesculepia is the healing asteroid. It represents the ability to heal and come back from the brink or even come back to life. This is complicated astrology, but just to say that this asteroid is parallel to Uranus in the chart and contraparallel the Vesta. As my campervan is a classic 1990 Renault Trafic, this is a good sign. It signifies that it has endurance. Uranus is the planet of surprise, but also electricity and technology. Vesta is the asteroid connected to passion, dedication and work. In the chart, it is conjunct the part of fatality… so Aesculepia promises to heal and revive this little old classic! But is that enough?

Demeter is the Greek goddess, and Ceres is the Roman version. Demeter is opposite Pluto in the chart.

In the myth, Pluto takes Persephone, her daughter by dubious means, into the underworld where he is ruler. Demeter is grieved, and in her grief, she causes the earth to become barren. In the end, a deal is struck and Persephone is allowed to come back to her mother for half of the year. Fertility is restored during this time. This myth is used to depict the seasons, the fall/winter vs spring/summer months. But it’s also one that can depict the Great Year…. I’ve mentioned this before. We are returning to a golden age, a time of light, a time when Persephone is no longer in the darkness with Pluto. A time of emergence from the Kali Yuga/Dark Age/Underworld of the 25,000-year-plus cycle. But at the moment, we are at the point of negotiation with Pluto. All of us, here on earth, are involved in this negotiation! In the myth, Zeus sends Hermes to go to the underworld to negotiate the deal. In the story with Ceres, it’s Jupiter who sends Mercury to the underworld for the negotiation.

Mercury is the way of Hermes; a journey of self-discovery, transformation. As above so below… the transformation within each of us leads to the transformation of the world!

The campervan has Moon square to Ceres (the Roman version of Demeter). In this chart, Ceres is in Aries and is nurtured by independence and freedom as well as self-expression. This speaks of a tension between the emotional needs of the Moon in Capricorn, who is structured and may not be so adventurous, with the needs of Ceres. Grandmother is sharing her wisdom with the new mom. A new mom might want to say, “Leave me alone… I’m the mother”. But if the grandmother energy is embraced, there is a tension between the youthful and newly emerging Ceres – Ceres at the beginning of the zodiac… Ceres in the springtime of March – Aries season, and Grandmother who has been down that road, there can be tremendous support. But it takes a village to raise a child; a grandmother’s help is invaluable!

The moon is opposite Jupiter in Cancer, and this is another indication of the difficulty in the integration of the Mother. Jupiter in Cancer loves the comforts of home, family, and tribe. The Moon in Capricorn feels too driven to enjoy that energy. This is the energy of the overly doting mother or the one who is completely absent…. Ultimately, it creates the energy of “failure to launch”. Meaning the child lacks the skills necessary to make it in the world due to mom doing too much or nothing at all. I also have a wide Moon opposite Jupiter in my chart! So there is a little bit of me taking on this adventure to individuate and to integrate my own internal mother without going overboard…

Now this chart has another aspect that is present in my chart. This represents the energy that I am working on. The ascendant of my campervan is 16 Sagittarius, and this is very similar to my natal mid-heaven. So the chart embodies something about my career and what I am known for. It encompasses teaching, spirituality and religion and higher learning as well as travel.

Vesta in the Campervan chart is in sextile to the Sun and Pallas, all making a mini grand trine. Vesta is also trine Ceres. So all of the classical goddesses are present and working together. But the Sun is opposite Ceres, suggesting again a difficulty with integrating the mother within the ego (the Sun).

All in all, the energy is showing up like the mother who is still very wounded. The return to fertility depends on Mercury!

Now here is where you are going to probably say “what the f@#%”. Because I’ve decided after a week of having the campervan, that I will sell it. It has to do with Mercury (or Hermes). In the story of Ceres/Demeter, Mercury/Hermes goes to the underworld to negotiate the return of Persephone. This is needed for Ceres/Demeter to return to fertility and balance. But Mercury is too challenged in this chart. Now you might be wondering, aren’t you an astrologer? Couldn’t you have timed this better? Well, sometimes the universe has other plans.. And those plans are part of the lesson.

In a vehicle chart, two things must be strong. Mercury and Mars. Mercury is the movement of the vehicle. It represents the vehicle itself. Mars is the drive, energy, ambition, get up and go…. Both of these are challenged.

And they are also both challenged in our world. Social media, AI, smartphones etc, are all ruled by mercury. And they seem to be stunting not only our minds (Mercury), but also our motivation and drive (Mars)

Now, this doesn’t mean that this vehicle will be a challenge for everyone. I had a friend who bought a boat, and every minute of it was a challenge to her. She sold the boat to someone she knew, and the next owner didn’t experience a single issue! For me at the moment, I bought the campervan, it had Mercury square Jupiter, square the moon, opposite Chiron, semisquare Vesta and conjunct the mid-heaven. It’s indecisive, distracted, insecure and unsure about its mission! Mercury is the one whom Jupiter sends into the underworld to negotiate Persephone’s return… so Mercury is doubly important! There is no room for indecision and hesitation for this task!

Mercury’s ability to negotiate with Pluto is very challenged in the campervan chart. Mars in the chart is in Scorpio and Square to Pluto. This is a strong Mars, because it’s in a sign it rules, but it’s challenged by Pluto, making negotiations with Pluto difficult and combustible.

Ultimately, the campervan is just the tool for the mission of self-growth and for my career ambitions (which are also ambitions that I hope will serve the world). And so my first lesson on the path… We have to be able to admit when our tools are not right for the job if we are going to be successful! Part of the return to a healthy mother (or grandmother) is that balance of wisdom, structure and loving limits that know when to say “no” in the service of nurturing and meeting our needs.

So my campervan experience has been a lesson in what needs to happen for the return of the balanced and fertile mother!

Equinox – Opportunity to Meditate for Balance; Energy Lines, Locational Astrology and Timing

Photo by Deniz Altindas on Unsplash

The fall equinox this year falls on September 22nd. It’s only one day following the New Moon Eclipse… The equinox is a time of balanced light and dark. It’s a time, depending on what hemisphere you live in, where either the light returns and days get longer or descends into longer days of darkness. The equinox is a moment of balance. And in that moment, we can consider what needs to be brought into balance.

Combining energy lines, locational astrology, and timing-“as above, so below”- I hypothesized that we can bring about deeper change by integrating these three concepts. Over the last couple of years, a group of dousers and energy workers has been working with earth energy lines to restore health to the lines worldwide. I have been involved with a group overseen by Rory Duff. It’s a group focused on one of three powerful cities: Washington, Rome, and London

You don’t have to be in those locations to connect with the energy nodes, the locational lines or the timing of the equinox! Just connect in mediation!

Washington – Balancing Conflict and Cooperation: Can We Get Along?

Geodetically, Washington has a Chiron line running through it during the equinox. The equinox provides a window to meditate on the deep wounds that exist in the US. Even more so now during this eclipse window! Rory Duff has written an article on these energy lines and how they work, and I’ve written an adjacent article focusing on the locational astrology for Washington. The article appears in the Pathways Magazine, which is Maryland’s go-to for all things mind, body, and spirit. Check out pages 31-32 for Rory’s post, page 33 for the one on astrology and page 54 for the Event – New Moon – Equinox Meditation For Peace At Washington Power Sites 9/21/25 in their free digital edition. If you are in the area, please join, or if you know of anyone who will be in the area, please forward the link.

Rome: Balancing the God and the Goddess

In locational astrology, the asteroid Ceres line crosses close to Rome, and the moon line (not to be confused with the moon energy lines that Rory speaks about) is also very close on the 22nd. The energy of Ceres is connected to the mother, grain and fertility (or loss of fertility). Persphone, her daughter, was lured into the underworld by Hades/Pluto. The myth is linked to the seasons, as Ceres negotiated with Hades to have her daughter for half of the year, the other half she spends in the underworld. This myth is the focus of equinox as we descend into the fall and winter. However, we are still in the eclipse energy, and interestingly, I see the eclipse as assisting us in a return to the light of the Great Year (25,344 years in the Tychos). To bring balance to our world, focus on the return of light and the balance of the great year. Focus on the return of the Goddess and the balance of masculine and feminine energies.

Tiber Island or the Temple of Demeter is a great place to focus meditation.

London – Balancing Societies’ needs

London, England, is at the midpoint between the Saturn and Neptune lines, and is perhaps experiencing the harshest energy. Saturn in Pisces is dissolving structures, and when Saturn moves back into Aries in 2026, the structure of our identity will continue to be tested and challenged.

Neptune in Aries is the sacred warrior, and the group working under Rory’s guidance has been working with the energy of Joan of Arc. In fact, a statue of her stands in Washington; she is seated on a horse with a sword in her hand. Yet we understood historically that Joan of Arc never carried a sword and embraced that idea…. She led with heart, passion and persuasion. I encourage the same for those mediating for London.

Aries is also the sign of the pioneer and provides an opportunity to embrace being a social/cultural, business, technical, and even geographical pioneer. Everything is broken. Since the geodetic energy lines of Saturn and Neptune run through England, those there or focused there can focus meditations on inner strength, resilience, gratitude and detachment. For detachment, the image of the Buddhist drawing a beautiful and detailed sand painting, only to blow the sand away, comes to mind.

The Alchemy of Place; Where Ley Lines and Astrocartograpy intersect…

You’ve heard the phrase ‘As above, so below’… but what does that mean when we’re talking about ley lines and locational astrology? Leylines are powerful energy, and so are your personal locational lines. So what happens when the two meet?

Locational astrology—or astrocartography—is the astrology of place. It projects your natal birth chart onto the Earth, revealing where each planetary energy is strongest geographically. Imagine your Sun line—the line of vitality, purpose, and identity—running through a place on the planet. Or your Venus line, amplifying love, connection, and creativity. These are real lines you can physically travel to.

Here’s where it gets fascinating. In 2023, I travelled across southern England, tracing two powerful Earth energy currents known as the Michael and Mary lines. These lines crisscross the land, weaving through sacred sites and ancient churches. As I followed the Michael and Mary lines, I stood at a spot where they intersected with my Sun line—my line of personal radiance.

I felt it. It was intense.

It made me wonder – What happens when the energies of the Earth align with the cosmic blueprint of your birth

Ley lines are invisible pathways of Earth energy believed to connect ancient monuments and sacred sites. The term was popularized in the 20th century, but the idea is much older. Two of the most famous are the Michael and Mary lines, identified by dowsers Hamish Miller and Paul Broadhurst in The Sun and the Serpent. These lines stretch across southern England—from St. Michael’s Mount in Cornwall to East Anglia—crossing some of the most spiritually significant locations in the country.

Ley lines are believed to be invisible pathways of earth energy—natural currents that flow beneath the surface of the land. Some compare them to the meridians in acupuncture or the nadis in yoga channels of subtle energy that support the health and vitality of the planet itself. The term ‘ley line’ was first popularized in the 1920s by Alfred Watkins, who noticed that ancient sites—stone circles, burial mounds, churches—often lined up across the landscape. But it wasn’t until much later that dowsers like Hamish Miller and Paul Broadhurst revealed something even more compelling; certain ley lines don’t just form straight tracks… they weave, they pulse, they dance—like serpents of energy.

Though the Michael and Mary lines are two of the most well-known ley lines, these lines are found all over the world! And, people who visit or live along them often report heightened intuition, emotional breakthroughs, spiritual awakenings, or simply a deep sense of presence. When these earth energy lines cross or converge, it’s believed that a vortex or power node is formed. These are places where things can open, shift, connect and heal… both within us and around us.

Just to be clear, ley lines are earth energy lines, but earth energy lines are not necessarily ley lines. Rory Duff explains that ley lines are simply the long and weaving energy lines where sacred sites have been built, and connect in a straight line. But there does not need to be a sacred site, a stone circle or a church, for there to be powerful energy lines.

One of the sites I visited in 2023 was the town of Lostwithiel, which is nestled in a wooded valley in Cornwall. Its name comes from Cornish, meaning ‘the tail end of the woods.’ But I jokingly call it ‘Lost With All’—because I truly did lose some things there, and yet I found something deeper in the process.

Technically, the Michael and Mary lines cross at the Church of Saint Bartholomew. But I want to share two connected locations in this area that sit right on my Sun/IC line: the church itself, and Restormel Castle.”

First, Saint Bartholomew’s Church – Though the main entrance to the church is now at the back through a parking lot, we first approached the original front. There, we found a strange structure—shaped like a sarcophagus or a mummy. Of course, we couldn’t resist jumping in! It was strange and we wondered if it had been built there to take advantage of the crossing Mary and Michael Lines. We had a sneaking suspicion the energy lines may have crossed there, too, but without dowsing rods, we couldn’t confirm it. Still, we felt something. We decided it best to connect with both points

After a while, we made our way to the back entrance. Inside the church, we were drawn straight to the font—the place where the Michael and Mary lines are said to cross. Five of us stood around the font and connected with the energy. Curious as ever, we lifted the lid. Inside, we noticed a small arrow, and used the compass app on our phones to see where it pointed. It read 240° southwest. Interestingly, that compass reading—240° southwest—corresponds to the azimuth of a major lunar standstill moonset, especially at the latitude of Lostwithiel (around 50°N). And guess what? We’re in a year of major lunar standstill right now—2025.

I’ve included insights like this in the upcoming Clan Mother Worldwide Astro Travel Guide to Sacred Sites, where I show what astrology connects to each site, and when to visit. Go to my site to get notified when the book is available. Or, if you’re reading this later, you can find out where to purchase it.

Shortly after, a gentleman came over to explain the church and the Font. Watch the video!

To understand what might be happening at these intersections, let’s try to connect these powerful energies to what I experienced. I mentioned my Sun line ran through this area. In fact it is my Sun/IC line. The Sun/IC line in locational astrology (astrocartography) is a powerful and deeply personal line. It represents the meeting point of the Sun—your core identity, vitality, purpose—and the Imum Coeli (IC)—the root of your chart, symbolizes home, family, ancestral lineage, emotional foundations, and private life. The Sun/IC line is where your sense of self and your inner foundations converge. Travelling or living on this line often brings profound inner experiences. It can feel like coming home to yourself, like reuniting with something ancient and familiar. On this line, you may feel more connected to your roots or lineage. You may also find deep solitude, reflection or healing. And you may also encounter ancestral energies or spiritual guides. Your Sun (ego-identity) feels grounded (IC) here.

This line can also bring up unresolved inner patterns for healing, especially those related to your early life or family system. I am certain this is what happened to me. A mix of ancestral energy and my vitality was affected!

After the Church, just ten minutes away, we visited Restormel Castle—a near-perfect Norman ring fort. I lay in the center of its circular walls, and something happened. I couldn’t get up. My body felt seized. Remember: both the church and the castle sit on my Sun/IC line. Was this Earth energy? Was it a healing crisis? Was it a blending of the Michael and Mary currents with my own astrological Sun line? I couldn’t fully explore the castle. I was in too much pain. I couldn’t climb the castle stairs, so I lay on a bench outside the castle, stretching and breathing. My vitality (Sun) was majorly affected. After feeling a bit better, I then walked the perimeter of the castle and found myself moving energy with my hands. It felt like I was clearing something, like cutting through an energetic resistance. I called upon the spirits and elementals for support. The strange thing is that after we left, that intense pain was gone. Something had shifted!

According to geobiologist Rory Duff, ley lines aren’t just pathways—they’re resonant fields that amplify human characteristics where they cross. If you’re joyful, you become more joyful. If you’re struggling, those feelings may deepen. These are amplification zones.

So what happens when a ley line intersects a planetary line from your natal chart, like my Sun line? I think you come into a powerful field of cosmic and earthly resonance: as above, so below.

There are many things to consider when working with Leylines and your locational lines. I may have been on a line that disrupts health – Rory Duff calls these moon phase lines. And you also have to consider the aspects of the planet in question. I did have some strange things happen there-there is an astrological reason for that…. but I’ll leave that for a future post!

This is just the beginning of what we can discover when we walk the lines—both visible and invisible. If you’ve ever felt pulled to a place, or energized when you arrive somewhere you’ve never been… maybe it’s not just coincidence. Maybe, like me, you’re being called to stand where your star path meets the Earth.
