What is Astrology in the Wild?
Astrology in the Wild is a three-night, new-moon camping experience held in Europe’s elite International Dark Sky Places. Participants learn astrology directly beneath the night sky—casting natal charts, identifying constellations, and exploring planetary movements using ancient, light-free techniques.
Do I need to know astrology or astronomy beforehand?
Not at all. The experience is designed for beginners through intermediate learners. You'll be guided through every step—identifying the rising sign, learning constellations, and understanding chart structure.
What exactly will we be doing each day and night?
Each location follows the same structure:
Nights: Live sky readings, navigation by stars, constellation mapping, new-moon ritual work, and observing planets via telescopes.
Days: Creative integration, writing and art sessions, myth & math lessons, group discussions, and personal chart work.
What’s included in the cost?
The fee covers the full Dark Sky Astrology curriculum, guided sessions, telescope access, creative workshops, red-light lantern use, and support from your astrologer-guide.
Camping gear, transport, and food are not included unless arranged separately.
Do I need to bring my own tent or campervan?
You are welcome to bring your own tent or campervan. Some locations may offer glamping options. If you need gear supplied, please email us before booking so we can coordinate equipment or rental options.
Where exactly is the campsite?
The exact campsite location is provided after booking. We select dark-sky–optimal spots and aim for the whole group to be at the same campsite whenever possible. Detailed directions, parking info, and arrival notes will be sent once your place is confirmed.
Is camping required?
Yes—this experience is designed to immerse you in true darkness. Camping ensures zero light pollution and full access to the night sky for chart casting, ritual work, and celestial observation.
What should I pack?
A recommended list will be sent after booking, but generally:
- Tent or campervan, sleeping gear
- Warm layers (nights are cold even in summer)
- Red-light headlamp or lantern (white light is discouraged)
- Notebook & pen
- Comfortable shoes
- Reusable water bottle
Optional: binoculars, your birth data, favourite art supplies (some will be supplied)
How accurate does my birth time need to be?
A precise birth time helps for rising sign and house calculations. If your time is approximate, let us know; we offer techniques for estimating angles based on the sky.
What happens if it’s cloudy?
The workshop includes mythology, chart-building, creative sessions, and astrology lessons that do not require clear skies. If clouds roll in, we shift to these modules until visibility returns—dark-sky regions typically offer excellent breaks in cloud cover.
What is a New Moon and why schedule around it?
The new moon provides the darkest sky possible. With no moonlight, constellations, planets, and the horizon line become dramatically clearer—ideal for learning sky-based astrology.
Is this a spiritual retreat or an educational workshop?
Both. You’ll study ancient techniques, astronomy basics, and astrological principles, while also participating in optional rituals (intention-setting, journaling, creativity sessions). You can lean more toward the educational or the mystical—your comfort level guides your experience.
Is it physically demanding?
Moderately. Expect walking on uneven ground, staying outdoors into the night, and cool temperatures after dark. There are no strenuous hikes, but participants should be comfortable with basic camping.
Are meals provided?
Meals are not included. Each participant brings their own food or coordinates shared meals with other campers. Some sites have nearby cafés or facilities; details will be provided per location.
How large is each group?
Group size is intentionally small—usually 5 - 10 participants—to preserve the quality of sky observation and personalized chart guidance
Can I attend more than one location?
Absolutely! Each site has unique sky conditions and landscape energy. Many participants choose to attend more than one for a deeper journey.
